Description

As the GBS Regional Lead – Portugal, you will have strategic and operational oversight of all GBS activities at the Portugal site. You’ll manage the functional leads for Order to Cash (O2C), Record to Report (R2R), and other operational areas, driving consistent performance, continuous improvement, and strong business partnering.

You will act as a key liaison between the GBS hub in Pune, India, and regional stakeholders across Europe, ensuring seamless service delivery and alignment to global standards.

Key Responsibilities

During transition and ramp-up:

  • Leading the regional transition and knowledge transfer, ensuring successful onboarding of processes into the Portugal site.
  • Collaborating with global PMO to track project milestones, report progress, and mitigate risks.
  • Managing regional capacity planning, hiring, training, and readiness reviews.

Once in steady state:

  • Leading and developing functional managers (O2C, R2R, etc.) and their respective teams.
  • Acting as the key escalation point for service delivery performance, compliance, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Ensuring SLA adherence, process optimization, and operational resilience.
  • Supporting automation and digitalization initiatives including RPA, dashboards, and process improvement tools.
  • Providing leadership visibility into performance through governance routines and data-driven insights.

Qualification & Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in shared services, finance operations, or global business services.
  • 4–5+ years of experience in people leadership, including mid- to senior level stakeholder management.
  • Proven experience managing operations in a hub-and-spoke GBS model.
  • Demonstrated success in transitions, change management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Experience working in a matrix and multicultural environment.
  • Solid understanding of SAP, automation platforms (e.g., RPA), and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
  • Fluent in English; Portuguese preferred; other European languages are a plus.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills with a hands-on, strategic mindset.
  • PMP, Prince2, or Lean Six Sigma certifications are a strong plus.
