Description

This is a key leadership role in _VOIS (a captive shared service centre of Vodafone Group) to manage service governance or partner relationship management in Finance Operations organization. This role will also oversee FP&A services offered by _VOIS CFSL FinOps on behalf of Vodafone markets.

This role will strategically work very closely with Service Delivery Head of Accounting Reporting and Controlling, Service Delivery Head of Working Capital, Group Head of Finance Operations, Market Partner Relationship Manager at market end, Head of FPNA and Finance Business Partners to put in place effective governance between markets and _VOIS. This role will rationalize business operation and standardization of process across Finance functions to have bigger activities penetration in _VOIS.

FP&A Service Lead

Key Responsibilities

Key accountabilities and decision ownership

  • Detailed data driven insights to identify focus areas to ensure working capital (cash flow) delivery is on track, issues understood, and initiatives are devised
  • Collaborate with FP&A and PRI teams on 9+3 and 9+15 budgeting processes
  • Develop insightful and accurate management and financial information to key stakeholders to support business decision making and cost management
  • Reporting of actual cash flows and understanding of variances to prior year, prior month, detailed budget and budget

Shared service Governance / Partner Relationship Management (PRM)

  • Ensure operational partner reviews are happening, supported with quality material, KPIs, analyses, RCAs, on TOP quality
  • Manage partner Communication as per Global communication timeline and MSA
  • Drive issue log management: quality Issues. Manage/govern the entire issue management process & build awareness and usage of the issue management tool
  • Regular communication materials published to all partners – (Operational Partner review meeting, Hub Performance Call, Issue log meetings, FOCLT)
  • Launch generic comms to our partners on key messages in line with Global Comms guidelines.
  • KPI’s / Process Performance management: Collection of KPI metrics and investigating the problem areas and presenting these reports to the Finance community (i. Hub level reports, ii. CFO Reports for the LM’s)

Finance Operations (Desired)

  • Takes accountability for the output of financial accounting processes and procedures, Controls processes performed from _VOIS of the respective market(s)
  • Aggregates and provides relevant, accurate and timely financial and management information to relevant stakeholders
  • Leadership skills and experience in managing non reporting teams in a complex and changing/dynamic operating environment
  • Act as a business consultant in terms of the financial accounting process
  • Promotes a culture of proactive continuous improvement of processes, systems, and people
  • Ensures the correctness and completeness of all _VOIS owned IFRS Balance Sheet accounts for the market(s)
  • Proactive identification, ownership, and coordination for the resolution of any material risks to prevent any financial misstatements for all the _VOIS Balance Sheet accounts and processes
  • Identify and highlight any material corrections (over-accrual, under accrual, revenue adjustments, etc.) to financial statements before closing to avoid misstatements.

Direct reports: 35- 40 FTEs

 

Qualification & Requirements

Essential

  • Experience in finance, in-particular in all areas of FinOps, FP&A, either by practical delivery or through oversight
  • Very strong cooperation, coordination, communication, and presentation skills
  • Analytical-minded, hardworking, innovative, adaptable, team player and leader with broad experience and understanding of performance management
  • Drive the implementation of Digital Agenda
  • Ability to work in a complex multi-geography environment and under pressure
  • Good visualization of issues, advanced PPT knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills to ensure a transparent representation of the results, processes and procedures and to influence multiple stakeholders

Experience

  • Experience in a role with ‘strong impact without authority’ (e.g., project management, functional/dotted line/matrix/cross locational team management) is desirable
  • Strong communication skills – ability to tell story behind the numbers
  • Key attributes are the ability to conceptualize, visualize, ideate and “think out of the box”
  • Resilient self-confident and self-assurance. experience in dealing with persons of other nationalities is as added advantage

Must Have Technical / Professional Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant with 10+ years of experience in financial accounting and management reporting of a global organization
  • Experience in Shared service or telecom industry is as added advantage
  • A sound understanding of the absolute necessity of compliance with policies, standards and the criticality of an effective controls framework
