Description

The Director, Finance will assume a leadership position, guiding the team through the successful execution of quarterly financial reporting processes. They will also play a crucial role in supporting monthly financial close cycles and proactively identifying avenues for process improvement. Additionally, this position will involve mentoring and developing a high-performing team of senior/corporate accountants and interns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the comprehensive execution of quarterly reporting processes, encompassing the preparation of financial statements, MD&A, and supplementary reporting schedules in strict adherence to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP).
  • Foster effective collaboration with other business units to effectively resolve intercompany reporting discrepancies.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of corporate accounting entries, period-end accruals, and address complex technical accounting matters.
  • Provide unwavering support to the finance team’s responsibilities within shared service functions.
  • Conduct rigorous reviews of accounting packages for individual legal entities, encompassing tax financials and financials for covenant compliance reporting.
  • Prepare comprehensive responses for a variety of quarterly and annual industry regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Cultivate strong collaborative relationships with other business groups and departments, effectively responding to their inquiries.
  • Prepare and maintain meticulous documentation for both internal and external audit requests.
  • Provide ongoing training, mentorship, and development opportunities to foster the growth and success of direct reports.
  • Continuously identify and implement innovative solutions to enhance process efficiency, optimize tools, and refine reporting methodologies.

Qualification & Requirements

  • CPA designation required
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive professional experience within the accounting and auditing domains.
  • Demonstrated experience with public company reporting requirements under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Proven expertise in financial systems, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, complex, and fast-paced environment while effectively managing shifting priorities and meeting demanding deadlines.
  • Highly self-motivated and proactive with a strong emphasis on professional development.
  • Prior experience with Microsoft Dynamics and Workiva is considered a valuable asset.
