Description

As Finance Shared Service Center Manager, you will lead and manage the Finance Shared Service Center in Penang, overseeing a team of 7–13 specialists supporting the Southeast Asia region (TH, MY, SG, and additional SEA markets as required). In this role, you will report to the Regional Finance Director.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & People Management

  • Lead a team of 7–13 finance professionals, ensuring optimal performance and capability development.
  • Recruit, onboard, coach, and develop team members to build a strong, motivated SSC team.
  • Establish a positive culture focused on collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Operational Management & Service Delivery

  • Oversee daily operations across P2P, O2C, R2R, and other finance processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Ensure operational excellence in alignment with SSC best practices such as standardized workflows and internal control frameworks.
  • Monitor team performance using KPIs and SLAs, ensuring high service quality to all SEA markets.
  • Ensure delivery of accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting.

Process Transition, Standardization & Improvement

  • Lead transitions of financial processes into the Shared Service Center.
  • Identify opportunities to drive automation, standardization, and process optimization.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives leveraging digital tools and workflow automation.

Stakeholder Engagement & Regional Collaboration

  • Act as the primary point of contact for regional finance leaders (Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia).
  • Build strong relationships with country controllers, business partners, and internal customers.
  • Support change management initiatives for new process rollouts or system enhancements.

Governance, Risk & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and external regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain robust documentation for audits and internal control checks.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate operational risks within the SSC.

Qualification & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent.
  • Experience in setting up and managing financial shared service centers.
  • Strong understanding of shared service models, financial processes, and change management principles.
  • Expertise in process improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, including SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Excel and other financial modeling tools.
  • Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills.
