For a very well known multinational company, a finance shared service manager is urgently needed…
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of accounting professionals responsible for a specific functional area within the shared service center, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, reconciliations or financial reporting and tax.
- Establish the Finance Shared Service Center for Northeast Africa & Middle Cluster (14 markets)
- Overseeing finance operations of the SSC (9 Legal entities spanning over 4 countries: Egypt, UAE, KSA & Lebanon. Business is done in 15 different countries in the Northeast Africa and Middle East Region).
- Provide guidance, direction, and coaching to team members, setting clear performance expectations, and supporting their professional development and growth.
- Day-to-day operations of the team, including task assignment, workload management, and resolution of escalated issues, to ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions.
- Monitor team performance against key performance indicators (KPIs), service level agreements (SLAs), and quality standards, analyzing trends and implementing corrective actions as needed to drive continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to team members, recognizing achievements and addressing areas for improvement to foster a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Piloting projects for technology improvements in the Service Center
- Process improvement initiatives and its regional delivery of accounting, taxes and corporate services.
- Serve as a point of contact for internal stakeholders and external clients regarding team-specific inquiries, escalations, and service requests, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication.
- Driving governance meetings
- Key contact for auditors to facilitate audits.
- Oversee month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger activities.
- Provide hands-on support at all levels to ensure successful implementation of change initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and accounting standards within the team, conducting periodic audits and assessments as needed.
Qualification & Requirements
- Bachelor Degree from accredited university
- 10+ years experience in accounting (Shared Service Center set up).
- FMCG background is a must
- Excellent command of English.
- Problem solving skills,
- Leadership skills.
- Experience in team management.
- Good communication, presentation and social skills.
- Must be confident individual with good organizational skills and structured mindset to priorities work commitments as in a highly ad hoc request environment.
