Finance Director

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Malaysia leadership to develop and execute financial strategies.
  • Lead the Malaysia finance team, overseeing financial statement preparation, general ledger, cost accounting, fixed assets, accounts receivable/payable, budgeting, and tax compliance.
  • Ensure alignment of financial procedures, systems, and controls with both local reporting standards and corporate policies.
  • Manage monthly and quarterly financial closing processes in compliance with US GAAP and local GAAP.
  • Liaise with external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits.
  • Establish and enforce accounting policies and internal controls to maintain US GAAP adherence.
  • Oversee the Shared Service Team supporting Malaysia, the US, India, and other regions to ensure seamless operations.
  • Lead ERP system implementation and other strategic financial projects.
  • Ensure internal controls over financial reporting comply with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations.
  • Continuously assess and optimize departmental processes, resource allocation, and control effectiveness.

Qualification & Requirements

  • 15+ years of relevant experience (US CPA or Malaysia CPA preferred).
  • Background in the technology industry and experience with US publicly traded companies is a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and Malaysia GAAP.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems and system implementations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with strong analytical and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, multitask, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while ensuring accuracy.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to build and mentor high-performing finance teams.
  • Prior experience in MNC finance/accounting operations at a director level, with expertise in local compliance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
