The Executive Global Technical Safety/Shared Services Leader is a leadership position focused on developing and implementing Safety strategies and programs for the Global GE Aerospace organization. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing policies, ensuring compliance with international and domestic regulations, managing risks, and promoting key initiatives. This role also involves leading and mentoring teams, collaborating with various departments, and engaging with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.

Executive Global Technical Safety/Shared Services Leader

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Safety Technical/Shared Services Team, provide guidance and direction to achieve operational excellence
  • Manage and lead future acquisitions and mergers related to applicable regulatory and compliance expectations.
  • Provide technical leadership and expertise on operational safety requirements under OSHA, ASME, ANSI, NFPA, NEC, RIA….and their global equivalents.
  • Manage and lead all emergency management processes related to EHS
  • Manage/Develop and Implement all EHS education and training requirements.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures that align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements both domestic and international.
  • Lead OSHA recordkeeping for all domestic and international locations
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with EHS standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote key initiatives and enhance EHS global performance.
  • Provide technical expertise in areas like industrial hygiene, electrical safety, robotics, ergonomics, fall protection, machine guarding, interpreting EHS regulation and training for US and International requirements.
  • Work as a collaborative partner with GE Aerospace Global EHS team and Legal team to closely communicate and ensure strategic transparency.
  • Executes business plans and contributes to the development of functional strategy.
  • Provide innovative solutions designed to lead the company/function in new directions
  • Partner with all operational leaders, including senior leadership, to align strategy that best prioritizes actions with business risk to ensure focused execution.
  • Responsible for all budgetary development and management
  • Develop and implement EHS aspects into a core management system which drives and delivers fundamental excellence.
  • Responsible for leading proactive approach to meet and exceed all EHS regulatory requirements applicable to global business and knowing what additional future regulatory requirements are potentially being discussed and developing action plan.

Qualification & Requirements

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred in EHS related field.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
  • Minimum of 10 years role-specific experience, with 5 years leading global EHS team of professionals
  • Previous experience leading multi-disciplinary EHS programs for manufacturing operations in multiple locations both domestically and internationally.
  • Demonstrated domain expertise in multiple EHS disciplines/topics including but not limited to robotics, electrical, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, contractor safety, emergency management

Desired

  • Business leader with 15+ years of EHS experience in large regulated, high hazard industrial companies.
  • Direct experience in EHS leadership and processes for a large global company.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and work effectively with diverse, highly matrixed, cross-functional global teams and external agencies in global environments spanning multiple time zones.
  • Excellent and concise communication skills demonstrated with an ability to listen and communicate clearly, effectively, and persuasively, in verbal and written presentations.
  • Demonstrated team building and engagement with staff, customers, consultants, and contractors.
  • Strong analytic skills, ability to analyze complex data sets.
  • Detailed-oriented and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Experience in a Lean operating system environment. Track record of applying Lean in large, complex, global organizations; a systems thinker with a pragmatic, practical approach.
