Description

The Director of Shared Services, based in Bangalore, India, will be responsible for leading and transforming key global support functions. Reporting into global leadership outside of India, they will provide onsite leadership for Billing, Procure-to-Pay (P2P) as well as Data and Analytics functions. A critical component of this role is the end-to-end strategic planning and execution of service migrations from international regions to India. This role requires a proven leader capable of driving operational efficiency and implementing best-in-class processes while seamlessly collaborating with international peers and stakeholders to ensure global alignment.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Operations & Transition Management

  • Execute a comprehensive strategy and roadmap for the successful migration of Billing, P2P, Data and Analytics Shared Services and other Accounting functions to the new operational hub in Bangalore, India.
  • Lead change management efforts, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations during the transition

P2P and Billing Leadership

  • Oversee the end-to-end global Procure-to-Pay (P2P) and Billing processes, driving operational excellence, efficiency, and compliance across all managed regions.
  • Lead the successful migration, stabilization, and scaling of the P2P and Billing functions to the new Shared Services hub in Bangalore, India, ensuring business continuity.
  • Implement best-in-class financial processes and technology solutions (e.g., automation) to streamline operations and reduce cycle times in P2P and Billing.
  • Manage M&A integration activities related to P2P and Billing processes, policies, and systems for newly acquired entities into the Shared Services framework.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for P2P and Billing, utilizing data and analytics to identify and execute continuous improvement initiatives.

Data & Analytics Leadership

  • Lead the Data and Analytics function within Shared Services, ensuring the delivery of timely, accurate, and actionable insights to support executive decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain a robust framework for all shared services functions, focusing on operational performance, cost analysis, and service utilization.
  • Drive the adoption of data-driven decision-making culture and technology improvements within the Shared Services organization.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing global team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and customer service.
  • Directly lead India-based teams while managing integrated reporting lines and cross-functional partnerships with global peers and leadership.
  • Oversee budget planning and resource allocation for all managed functions.

Qualification & Requirements

Experience & Skills

  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in a Shared Services, Global Operations, or Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) environments with focus on Accounting functions.
  • Proven experience in successfully leading and executing large-scale organizational and geographical transitions/migrations (e.g., US to India), particularly within Finance/Operations domains (Accounting, Billing, P2P, Accounts Payable).
  • Strong background in Data and Analytics, including developing operational metrics, reporting, and driving business insights to improve performance.
  • Strategic People Leadership: Experienced in building and scaling high-performing teams, mentoring management-level talent, and fostering an accountable, site-based culture.
  • Advanced project management skills with a focus on leading teams through complex organizational shifts.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Operations Management, or a related field. Master’s degree (MBA) preferred.
  • CPA or equivalent with 10+ years experience in Accounting operations or other Finance functions.
