Description

The Shared Services Director is responsible for leading Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Treasury Management for a global manufacturing company , with direct operational responsibility for these activities in North America and functional leadership worldwide.

The role drives operational excellence, strong financial controls, and efficient, scalable processes, while partnering closely with regional Finance Directors and the parent / group company. This position requires a strong people leader who is also hands-on, capable of operating strategically while remaining deeply engaged in execution.

The Shared Services Director will be located in the greater Detroit, Michigan area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accounts Payables: Lead North American AP operations; define global standards, controls, and KPIs; ensure timely and compliant supplier payments; drive efficiency and automation.
  • Accounts Receivables: Lead AR operations including billing, collections, and credit control; improve cash collections and DSO; set global credit policies and escalation processes.
  • Treasury Management: Lead North American Treasury management. Own global cash management, liquidity planning, banking relationships, and FX hedging strategy; ensure strong governance and risk management aligned with group standards.
  • Global Shared Services Leadership: Establish global frameworks, ways of working, and process standards; partner with regional Finance Directors to ensure consistent execution while respecting local requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive standardization, system optimization, and shared services effectiveness, remaining hands-on in resolving complex operational issues.

Qualification & Requirements

Experience & Skills

  • 10+ years’ experience in AP, AR, and/or Treasury Management.
  • 5+ years in a leadership role within a global manufacturing environment.
  • Strong ERP experience, including Infor, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar systems.
  • Proven track record in working capital optimization, cash management, and process improvement.
  • Strong understanding of internal controls, compliance, and risk management.
