Description

The Director, Operations Analytics leads the Analytics Center of Excellence (CoE) for STERIS, driving enterprise-wide data governance, analytics strategy, and data literacy across Supply Chain and Operations. This role is accountable for enabling data-driven decision-making, improving operational performance, and aligning analytics initiatives with business priorities. The Director serves as a strategic partner to functional leaders and IT, ensuring analytics capabilities are scalable, trusted, and impactful.

Key Responsibilities

Governance & Strategy

  • Define and enforce data governance policies, standards, and quality rules across Supply Chain and Operations.
  • Develop and execute the analytics roadmap, including AI/ML, predictive modeling, and business intelligence for improving efficiency, effectiveness, and capabilities of the business.
  • Lead the creation of master data strategies and ensure alignment with functional KPIs.
  • Serve as a strategic partner in shaping enterprise transformation through data-driven insights and operational intelligence.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with functional SMEs (e.g., VP of Operations, VP of CI) to co-create use cases and drive adoption, recognized as expert managing large, cross-functional projects and processes.
  • Collaborate with IT to ensure infrastructure supports analytics needs while retaining policy authority within the CoE.
  • Incorporate external data sources and industry benchmarks to contextualize internal performance and identify improvement opportunities.

Talent & Change Leadership

  • Build and lead a change network including analytics coaches, business translators, and data stewards.
  • Develop and deliver data literacy programs to elevate analytics maturity across the organization.
  • Leads team implementation of data designs, models, strategies, and/or processes.
  • Coach and mentor analytics talent across the organization, fostering a culture of curiosity, accountability, and continuous learning.

Operational Enablement

  • Oversee connector roles that bridge business and technical teams.
  • Coordinate stewardship activities with site leaders and managers to ensure data quality and usability.
  • Owns stewardship of data insights by inspecting, mining, transforming, and modeling data to raise productivity, improve decision-making, and gain competitive advantage.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives through advanced analytics and performance dashboards.
  • Ensure analytics outputs are communicated through compelling narratives and visualizations that drive action and resonate with internal and external stakeholders.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Drive alignment and integration of analytics across key functions including Finance, Quality, and Business Units.
  • Leverage existing Quality Analytics organizational models as reference points for structure, governance, and reporting.
  • Coordinates and integrates the flow of operations and supply chain information among suppliers, manufacturing locations, and linking into Customers.
  • Ensure analytics initiatives support enterprise-wide goals and regulatory standards where applicable.

Qualification & Requirements

The Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in analytics, supply chain, operations, or digital transformation
  • Proven leadership in cross-functional environments, ideally within a shared services or enterprise CoE
  • Strong understanding of data governance, analytics platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Tableau, Power BI), and change management
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning skills

Preferred:

  • Analytics or Business Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with regulated environments (e.g., ISO, FDA) is a plus

Other:

  • Experienced in direct oversight of analytics staff and connector roles
  • Proven abilities to coach, review, and delegate work to lower level analysts and/or specialists
  • Experience with indirect influence over functional data stewards and change agents
