Description
A global company is looking for a seasoned accounting/finance professional to lead our EMEA shared service centre. This leader will report to the VP Corporate Controller and be part of a global finance team. This role will be critical and instrumental in scaling up and expanding our EMEA shared service centre.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee global accounts payable, and the EMEA, general ledger accounting, VAT compliance, and statutory audit in a multi-currency environment.
- Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and year end close processes for the EMEA entities to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Oversee the statutory audit of the EMEA entities.
- Certify subsidiary financial statements for data integrity and accuracy.
- Maintain EMEA entities’ internal controls to ensure procedures comply with internal policies.
- Streamline and standardize the end-to-end procure-to-pay and record-to-record processes; establish performance metrices and accountability.
- Relentlessly drive system optimization, process improvement for efficiency and long-term scalability.
- Be the trusted liaison between the EMEA shared service centre and cross functional teams to remove operational bottleneck and drive operational excellence.
- Be the face of the EMEA shared service centre in front of external service providers, including banks, consulting firms, audit firms, and other fiduciaries.
- Coach, mentor, and develop the team, and position them for future success.
- Support ad hoc projects, such as system implementation, M&A due diligence and integration, and system and process improvement projects.
Qualification & Requirements
- BS/MS in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience.
- A strong people manager, with minimum of five years managing a large team.
- Experience working in a metrics driven environment, preferably in a large global public company.
- Experience in major ERPs such as Oracle and SAP.
- Knowledge of IFRS reporting
- Fluency in English and Spanish is required. Proficiency in an additional language is highly desirable.
- Hands-on, detail-oriented, organized and structured.
- Strategic, able to see and understand the bigger picture.
- Effective communicator, honest and transparent.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic and unstructured environment.
