Description

Bilfinger is driving a global transformation of its Shared Services operating model, focusing on scalable delivery, increased standardization, and enhanced business value. As the Director of Strategic Performance and Transformation Global Shared Services, you will play a pivotal role in enabling this enhancement across Finance, Procurement, HR, and other enterprise functions. You will guide the design and activation of a modern, high-performing shared services ecosystem by evolving the organizational structure, optimizing ways of working, and elevating leadership behaviors. Success in this role means instilling operational excellence, aligning stakeholders across functions and regions, and ensuring the transformation is visible, sustainable, and human-centered.

Key Responsibilities

Major Performance Objectives

  • Design and Launch a Global Performance Optimization & Communication Roadmap for Shared Services Within the first 6 months, define and deploy a comprehensive performance optimization and communication strategy to drive stakeholder alignment and engagement in the Global Shared Services Organization. Ensure consistent messaging across geographies and service lines.
  • Architect a high-performing SSC Operating Model and Enable Behavioral Alignment Within the first 9 months, partner with SSC leaders and global functional heads to define a future-state structure that promotes operational efficiency, governance, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Embed High-Performance Ways of Working Across the SSC Organization Within 12 months, lead the rollout of a cross-functional enablement program focused on driving new norms, collaboration rituals, and leadership behaviors aligned to a high-performing service culture.
  • Align with Senior Leadership to Champion the SSC Transformation Facilitate executive coaching and strategic alignment sessions to ensure consistent sponsorship and leadership behavior that reflects the SSC transformation vision and values.

Critical Subtasks

  • Conduct a Global Transformation Readiness Assessment Within 100 days, perform a regional and functional assessment of SSC transformation readiness. Use qualitative interviews and operational maturity metrics to present a “current-to-future state” roadmap.
  • Establish SSC Ways of Working, Governance, and Performance Norms Define and codify core collaboration principles, decision rights, escalation paths, and efficiency metrics to promote a high-performance SSC environment. Embed this into onboarding and enablement practices.
  • Build and Scale a Network of Performance Improvement Champions Activate a global network of SSC managers and performance enablers to drive behavioral consistency, share best practices, and model high-performance leadership throughout the change journey.
  • Facilitate Strategic Engagement Forums and Feedback Loops Establish quarterly touchpoints — including transformation summits and feedback workshops — to showcase progress, capture input, and reinforce transparency.
  • Promote Success Stories that Demonstrate Business Impact and Team Growth Identify and communicate high-impact transformation stories that reflect improved service quality, operational efficiency, or leadership behavior shifts — reinforcing a culture of excellence and learning.
  • Partner with Leaders to Track Adoption and High-Performance Indicators Define and monitor KPIs related to behavioral adoption, leadership alignment, and SSC performance. Present quarterly insights and optimize the approach based on data.
