Description

The Director of Financial Systems will oversee the implementation and management of financial processes and systems that enhance the organizations operational efficiency and effectiveness. This role is responsible for ensuring that financial operations align with best practices and support the financial objectives of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Serve as a key leader, driving global finance initiatives and integrating post-acquisition synergies.
  • Team Management: Lead and develop a team of direct reports, while influencing and collaborating with indirect stakeholders.
  • Process Excellence: Champion a world-class Finance organization, focusing on process standardization, optimization, and shared services.
  • Technical Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert in various finance processes (e.g., Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, Record-to-Report).
  • Systems and Technology: Manage finance systems and reporting, collaborate with IT and Supply Management to deliver solutions, and prioritize investments.
  • Project Management: Lead and support large-scale transformation initiatives, building and managing project plans.
  • Business Analysis: Leverage data and analytics to identify improvement opportunities and justify investments.
  • Compliance and Policy Adherence: Ensure compliance with all policies and standards.

Qualification & Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA required) or Finance (CMA required) or Operations Management/Information Systems
  • Master’s degree preferred

Experience:

  • 10+ years of broad finance and accounting experience in large, international companies
  • 10+ years of experience in education, services, or high-growth industries
  • 7+ years of project experience supporting finance transformation initiatives
  • Experience with large-scale financial systems (e.g., SAP, Lawson, Cognos) and data warehouses
  • Experience building and leading finance shared services environments
  • Strong process and project management skills, including process mapping techniques
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls
  • Proven ability to develop and execute finance and business cases
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate, negotiate, and build consensus
  • A commitment to continuous improvement
