Description

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead key finance and accounting functions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable (Billing and Cash Application), General Ledger Accounting, Master Data, and Credit Management. This contract role is instrumental in supporting the transformation of our client’s Accounting and Finance organizational structure.

Director of Financial Shared Services

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of a team of professionals to ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting and finance activities.
  • Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financials, with full interpretation of financial results.
  • Mentor and develop staff with a collaborative approach, establishing accountabilities, objectives, priorities, and monitoring/evaluating results.
  • Continually evaluate and optimize various department processes to deliver process automation and improved accuracy.
  • Develop/enhance, implement, and enforce accounting policies, internal controls, and procedures that will improve the overall operation and reduce risks of the business.
  • Build strong relationships with our business partners and liaise with other departments on analyzing financial results, problem resolution, and innovative strategic business initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and exceed their expectations.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Supervise, develop, mentor, and coach team members to ensure high-quality deliverables.

Qualification & Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • CPA and/or MBA preferred.
  • Must possess very strong management skills.
  • Should possess 15-20 years’ experience leading transaction accounting functions in some capacity (progressive years as a Billing Manager, AP Manager, 2nd Line Manager, Director).
  • The individual must place intense focus on metrics and KPIs.
  • Must possess highly polished communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Possess a Transformation background (highly organized and comfortable with agile, fast-paced change).
  • Must be a “Big picture” thinker who also understands the real work being done by each team.
  • Must be able to provide routine support for the CFO in the creation of board-level presentations.
  • Ability and interest in training and mentoring team members.

Skills and Job-Specific Competencies:

  • Experience in the energy/oil and gas, manufacturing, or industrial sectors.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Eagerness to work collaboratively in a very fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
