Description
You will join our Global Finance Operations & Transformation team based in Chennai. You’ll have site leadership responsibility for 300+ colleagues and will be responsible for revolutionizing our accounting operations.
Key Responsibilities
- You will be responsible for monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs) to assess the effectiveness of accounting operations and drive continuous performance improvements. You’ll also ensure compliance with accounting standards (GAAP) and internal controls while driving improvements in the financial reporting process.
- You’ll regularly analyze performance data to identify trends, root causes of inefficiencies, and areas for improvement, fostering a culture of accountability and performance excellence, ensuring that the accounting shared services team consistently meets or exceeds performance expectations. You’ll also identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and process redesign, using Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
- You’ll lead, coach, and mentor a high-performing accounting shared services team, promoting a continuous improvement mindset, ensuring a vibrant, collaborative community through inspirational leadership and role modeling, leading others through complex challenges and dilemmas to further the function’s agenda. As part of this you’ll develop training programs and resources that empower the team to innovate and continuously refine accounting processes.
Qualification & Requirements
- 25+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or shared services, with at least 15 years in a senior leadership role in shared services management
- Experience leading a large team in a global context
- Proven success in transforming accounting operations, driving efficiencies, and optimizing performance within a shared services environment
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP with experience ensuring compliance in high-performing organizations as well as familiarity with local Indian accounting standards and regulations
- Proven track record working in a global or multinational environment, managing teams across different geographies
- Expertise in financial systems (ideally SAP or other enterprise resource planning platforms) and experience in managing system implementations or upgrades
- Proven ability to manage and lead change initiatives, ensuring the smooth adoption of new processes and systems
- Experience with emerging technologies in finance, such as AI and machine learning for financial analysis and reporting
- Ability to develop and execute a strategic vision for the finance operations function, aligning it with the overall business strategy
