Description
The Director Human Resources (HR) Technology and Shared Services is responsible for the strategic direction, optimization, and service delivery of Sunrise’s HR technology ecosystem and shared services operations. This position serves as the bridge between HR, business needs, and enabling technology and services. You will oversee HR systems (Human Capital Management (HCM), Applicant Tracking System (ATS), and related platforms), shared services delivery, and the HR budget to ensure efficient processes, high-quality service, optimized outsourced relationships, and a modern, engaging digital team member experience.

Key Responsibilities
HR Technology Strategy and Transformation
- Develop and execute a forward-looking HR technology roadmap aligned with business and people strategies.
- Drive continuous improvement, automation, and digital transformation to simplify processes and enhance the team member experience.
- Anticipate trends in HR technology and recommend innovations that enable a modern, data-driven, and scalable experience.
Systems Leadership & Governance
- Serve as the business owner for core HR platforms, including HCM and ATS.
- Oversee upgrades, releases, and system configuration, ensuring functionality meets organizational needs.
- Establish governance for data integrity, security, and compliance.
Shared Services Leadership
- Direct the HR shared services delivery model, ensuring timely and high-quality service to team members, managers, and HR partners.
- Develop standardized processes, tools, and metrics that increase efficiency and consistency.
- Establish, monitor, and report on service-level agreements (SLAs) and performance benchmarks.
- Evaluate service delivery continuously and implement improvements that drive operational excellence and enhance the team member experience.
HR Budget Management
- Develop, manage, and monitor the HR technology and shared services budgets.
- Ensure cost-effectiveness and financial stewardship of HR systems, vendors, and service delivery.
- Partner with Finance and HR leadership to forecast, track, and optimize overall HR budget.
Process Optimization And User Experience
- Partner with HR leaders to optimize processes such as recruiting, onboarding, talent management, and learning.
- Ensure accurate and comprehensive workflow documentation for all HR processes.
- Conduct gap analyses and design workflows that prioritize end-user experience.
- Drive change management strategies to support adoption and minimize disruption.
- Support HR reporting and dashboards, ensuring leaders have timely, accurate, and actionable data.
- Provide guidance on HCM data and serve as a trusted advisor on workforce analytics.
Vendor and Stakeholder Management
- Oversee relationships with HR technology and shared services vendors and consultants, ensuring service levels are met.
- Act as liaison between HR, Information Technology (IT), Finance, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment and integration of systems.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to HR leaders, translating business needs into system requirements and solutions.
Inspire and Lead a Team
- Lead, coach, and develop HR technology and shared services professionals.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
- Effectively manage multiple priorities while delivering high-impact results.
- Maintain compliance in assigned required training and all training required by state/province or other regulating authorities as applicable to this role to ensure that Sunrise standards are always met.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience And Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed throughout this job description are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or certifications in HR, Business, or Technology preferred.
- 10+ years of HR systems/HR operations experience, with at least 5 years in leadership roles.
- Expertise in HR technology (HCM, ATS, talent systems), shared services, and HR budget management. Workday HCM experience preferred.
- Proven success establishing and monitoring SLAs, performance metrics, and standardized processes.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in budget planning, forecasting, and vendor cost management.
- Deep understanding of HR processes across the employee lifecycle.
