Description

Aptiv is hiring a GBS leader to build and scale our global shared services model—driving efficiency, consistency, and business value across the enterprise.

A critical role partnering with business units and functions to transition services into GBS, define a scalable service catalogue, and design an efficient delivery model. Responsible for shaping the global footprint to drive cost, capability, and long-term value, while building a high-performing, continuous improvement culture across shared services.

Director, GBS Operational Excellence & Services

Key Responsibilities

Service Development & Transition Leadership

  • Define and execute the enterprise GBS service development and transition roadmap, aligned to Aptiv’s strategic priorities and value creation agenda
  • Partner with Business Units and Functional Leadership to identify, prioritize, and scope services suitable for GBS, ensuring clear business ownership and value realization
  • Design and institutionalize a robust GBS Service Development & Transition Framework, spanning opportunity identification, business case validation, service design, transition execution, and stabilized operations
  • Act as the primary interface between Business Units, GBS Operations, and Technology to enable seamless transfer of services and establish scalable, standardized service offerings
  • Lead end-to-end transition programs, ensuring minimal business disruption, strong stakeholder alignment, and rapid time-to-value
  • Champion structured change management to drive adoption, embed new ways of working, and align culture to a service-led operating model

Team Leadership & Change Delivery Capability

  • Lead and develop a high-performing Process Excellence, Automation, and Transition team to drive and sustain scalable, high-quality service transformation

GBS Program & Portfolio Management

  • Lead a portfolio of global service transitions across Finance, HR, Procurement, IT, and other enterprise functions, ensuring delivery against scope, timelines, and value targets
  • Establish and govern a comprehensive GBS performance management framework, including KPIs, SLAs, customer experience metrics, and value realization tracking
  • Drive cross-functional alignment across Business Services, Technology, Automation, Data & Analytics, and Operations to ensure integrated, scalable service design and delivery
  • Own investment planning, resource allocation, and financial governance for the GBS transformation portfolio, with clear linkage to ROI and business outcomes
  • Provide executive-level reporting and insights on transformation progress, risks, and value delivery to senior leadership and SteerCo

Business Services & Technology Integration

  • Co-lead, with Technology partners, the design of digitally enabled business services, embedding automation, workflow (e.g., ServiceNow), analytics, and AI into service delivery
  • Translate business service requirements into technology-enabled solutions, ensuring alignment between service design, platforms, and user experience
  • Stay at the forefront of GBS, digital operations, and platform innovation, leveraging external benchmarks and best practices to continuously evolve Aptiv’s service model
  • Build strong, strategic partnerships with IT to ensure technology roadmaps are aligned to GBS priorities and enable transformation at scale

Business Value Realization & Service Excellence

  • Develop robust, data-driven business cases and value tracking mechanisms to quantify benefits, monitor performance, and ensure sustained delivery of ROI
  • Embed financial accountability, ensuring GBS outcomes are transparently reflected in P&L, budgets, and performance metrics
  • Establish a culture of service excellence, customer-centricity, and continuous improvement across all GBS services
  • Drive standardization, simplification, and automation to improve efficiency, scalability, and user experience across the service portfolio

Qualification & Requirements

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with GBS Operations (Finance, Sales, Supply Chain, or HR) and cross-functional collaboration.
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in transformation, strategy, or operations.
  • Proven success in leading enterprise-wide change initiatives with measurable business impact.
  • Experience managing large-scale programs in matrixed environments.
  • Expertise in Service Development, Shared Services Design, or equivalent methodologies.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills.

Preferred Skills

  • MBA or advanced degree.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
  • Technical certifications supporting business operations (i.e. Service Now (CSA, CIS) and experience deploying ServiceNow in non-IT operations.
  • Project/Program management certifications (PMP, PRINCE2, SAFe).
