Director, Finance – Shared Services

Key Responsibilities

• Partnership: Partner seamlessly with workstream leaders to drive financial and operational results supporting Thermo Fisher Scientific’s strategic and financial goals
• Financial Domain and Management Reporting: Ensure high integrity of financials and clarity in understanding results; deliver a cohesive story for senior leadership decision-making through reviews
• Process Acuity: Own and lead key financial processes, including AOP, STRAP, month-end and quarter closes, and shared service project reporting
• Flexibility: Work cross-functionally with individuals and teams from different areas and drive continuous operational improvement in daily activities

Qualification & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Accounting or Economics strongly desired; CPA or MBA preferred
• Proven experience (10+ years ideally) in financial management, preferably in a global organization or within shared service sector
• High Potential Talent: Demonstrate consistent performance, drive, flexibility, and financial acuity
• Leadership: Lead a finance team of eight, including three managers, and provide business partnership to succeed against goals
• Influence: Understand and translate business challenges and requirements into sound solutions attaining consensus to support innovative ideas with the leadership team
• Balance leading finance responsibilities daily, partner on operational aspects, frame leadership priorities.
• Hard-working: Surpass goals, deliver consistently, and achieve outstanding outcomes; capable of leading projects, collaborating with diverse teams, and achieving results in a dynamic environment
• Data-Focused: Acquire and analyze data to drive your forecasting and identification of risks and opportunities of financial results vs plan
• Innovative: Challenge core processes and use prior finance experience to drive innovative solutions and daily efficiency
• Communication: Excellent communication and social skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and regions; Advanced level of English language
