Description

The Director / Controller of Global Accounting Operations is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the company’s global accounting operations, including managing the end-to-end close process, subledger accounting, and statutory reporting. Reporting directly to the Chief Accounting Officer (CAO), this role requires exceptional technical accounting expertise, operational efficiency, and outstanding people management skills to lead a high-performing global team. The ideal candidate is a CPA with deep experience in accounting operations across multiple areas and has successfully managed global close cycles, statutory accounting, and reporting in a public company environment.

Director/Controller of Global Accounting Operations

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all aspects of global accounting operations, including:
  • Inventory accounting
  • Internal consolidation close and reporting.
  • Legal entity accounting and statutory reporting.
  • Compensation and benefit accounting, including payroll partnership with HR.
  • Fixed asset and inventory accounting.
  • Accruals and cost center expense management.
  • Accounts payable, cash flow planning, and treasury activities.
  • Accounts receivable and collections processes.
  • Manage and optimize the global close and consolidation process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across subledgers and legal entities.
  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls, ensuring compliance with SOX requirements.
  • Drive the implementation and optimization of ERP systems to enhance operational efficiency and internal controls.
  • Collaborate with Tax, Treasury, and FP&A teams to address transaction accounting nuances and ensure cross-functional alignment.
  • Staff and manage a high-performing global shared services team, providing leadership, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
  • Partner with stakeholders to support transaction-specific accounting, IPO preparation, and other strategic initiatives.

Qualification & Requirements

Required:

  • CPA certification.
  • Extensive experience across all areas of accounting operations, including cash, inventory, accounts receivable, fixed assets, accounts payable, payroll, and stock-based compensation.
  • Proven track record of managing global close cycles, consolidation processes, and statutory reporting.
  • Experience supporting public company close cycles.
  • Demonstrated understanding of inventory accounting and related processes.
  • Experience with staffing and managing global shared service centers.
  • ERP implementation experience, including designing and implementing internal controls.
  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience in the fabless semiconductor industry.
  • IPO and S-1 filing experience.
  • Familiarity with SOX design and testing.
  • Expertise in partnering with Tax, Treasury, and FP&A teams.
