Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Director, Consumer Shared Services on a permanent basis on our Consumer Products team.

This position is a hybrid opportunity and is based in Saskatoon, SK.

Director, Consumer Shared Services

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and direct the development of store brands development, retail pricing and promotions, retail planogram services, forecasting & buying and food safety programs to ensure both FCL and Retail sales and profitability objectives are achieved.
  • Work closely with the Director of Food and the Consumer Products Marketing Manager to develop external branding strategies and initiatives relating to the central flyer program, digital online marketing programs and store brand development.
  • Oversee and provide direction to a diverse group of Managers and Home Office team members while providing input into the long-term vision and strategy for the Business Unit to ensure goals are aligned with organizational goals and industry best practices.
  • Provides a broad perspective on high level problems, challenges, and opportunities, and engages stakeholders at multiple levels and support team leaders on special projects while being an SME in solving cross-functional problems.
  • Communicate promotional and operational initiatives to the zone food operations teams
  • Negotiate and partner with key suppliers to ensure financial, marketing and service level objectives are achieved.
  • Ensure an industry leading food safety program is in place for local Co-operatives.

  • The Team: You will work closely with all commodity Org Leaders and the Consumer Products Marketing Manager and oversee a diverse group of Managers and Home Office team members while reporting into the Vice President, Consumer Products. This team strives to cultivate a culture that is high-performing, results-oriented, and business savvy.
  • The Collaborators: You will work closely with other functions in our Consumer Products business unit and collaborate across the organization with teams such as Supply Chain, Marketing, and local Co-ops.
  • The Customers: You will demonstrate customer focus while communicating with local co-ops to support their customers .
  • Why it matters:
  • We help local Co-ops serve their communities by providing support and leadership to food, pharmacy, liquor and convenience stores, and by delivering quality products and exemplary customer service.

Qualification & Requirements

You are looking for a career in Sales & Marketing and:

  • Have 5+ years of relevant progressively responsible experience in the Retail / Wholesale Industry including several years of experience in managing people.
  • Have a bachelor’s degree with preference towards Marketing, or General Business (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
