The Director of Americas Benefits is responsible for leading all aspects of the design, implementation, and management of the benefits programs with a focus on Health, Welfare and Work & Life benefits across the Americas region. This individual will ensure that benefits offerings are competitive, follow local regulations, and aligned with the company’s overall business strategy and employee needs. The role will collaborate with HR, finance, legal, and other departments to ensure our benefits support the overall employee value proposition.

This role reports into the Sr. Director of Global Benefits. It can be based either in the San Francisco Bay Area or Seattle.

Key Responsibilities

Benefits Strategy and Program Development

  • Lead the development and execution of benefits strategies for the Americas region, ensuring alignment with business goals, employee needs and market competitiveness.

Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure all benefits programs follow applicable local regulations, including healthcare reform, tax regulations, and other relevant laws

Budget and Financial Oversight:

  • Oversee the budget for benefits programs, ensuring financial discipline while maintaining program quality and employee satisfaction.

Employee Communication and Engagement:

  • Develop clear and effective communication strategies to improve awareness of benefits and maximize employee participation in key programs.

Vendor Management and Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Oversee the relationships with benefits providers, insurance carriers, and other stakeholders (external and internal), ensuring the delivery of high-quality services and programs.

Leadership and Team Development:

  • Lead and mentor a team of benefits professionals, fostering a high-performance team.

Qualification & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources , Business Administration, Finance, or related field /equivalent experience . A master’s degree or certification in benefits (e.g., CEBS, PHR/SPHR) is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability in benefits management in Americas region, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong in benefits strategy design, regulations, and trends.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with all levels of employees and leadership.
  • Strong project management and ability to prioritize

Benefits

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several  U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $154,000 — $309,400 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
