Description
As the DevSecOps you will lead a team of engineers devoted to creating a best-in-class developer experience enabling ideation and delivery of transformative capabilities to advance New York Life’s business strategy. You will supervise DevOps and QA Engineering Teams while partnering closely with the NYL Cyber Security Team and Hybrid Cloud Platform Teams. We strive to create frictionless developer experiences to rapidly advance the NYL Business Strategy and ensure all our systems are secure by design. Most importantly we value inclusivity and knowledge sharing across the NYL Technology Community to promote contributions to the DevSecOps Platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the DevSecOps and QA Engineering Teams to deliver capabilities which enable software development teams to deploy high quality, secure by design code in an agile manner
- Serve as a thought leader, driving the strategy for successful program delivery by defining objectives, aligning resources, leveraging GenAI, and fostering collaboration and contributions across teams to ensure impactful outcomes
- Leverage Kubernetes technology to deploy, install, upgrade, patch, and maintain resilient, reliable solutions for developing, testing, securing, and shipping software applications to production
- Embrace a customer-first approach, striving to exceed service level agreements, user specifications, and parameters set by CI/CD pipeline users, administrators, and software development teams. Actively engage in Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, backlog grooming, and performance metric tracking to ensure continuous delivery of high-quality products
- Improve the full lifecycle of software development from the end point, through pipelines, QA testing, security scanning and SDLC compliance
- Automate infrastructure, workflows, and testing processes to improve development and operational productivity while maintaining high security standards
- Build and maintain strong relationships to promote cross-tech contributions to improving developer experience
Qualification & Requirements
Business & Technology Skills:
- Trusted and respected as a thought leader who can influence and persuade business and IT leaders and IT development teams to adopt shared services for DevSecOps automation
- Highly collaborative and effective in building guilds and collaboration channels which raise the organizations level of effectiveness in software development
- Displays empathy for the software development community and champions continuous improvement to optimize the end-to-end software delivery process
- AI first approach to developer experience
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, system analysis or a related field of study, or equivalent experience
- Experience operating in SAFe Agile and Scrum Frameworks
- Practical experience in developing and deploying ML/AI driven developer experiences
- In depth technical knowledge of Kubernetes, Harness.io, Github, Github CoPilot, Checkmarx, Artifactory, MABL, Backstage, VSCode, AWS Services, and one or more software development frameworks
- At least five years of leadership experience
- At least five years of software development experience
