Description
The Shared Services team is responsible for the operational stability and performance of critical infrastructure platforms that underpin VWT’s IT landscape. This includes core services like Active Directory, SMTP, NPS (RADIUS), Certificate Authority, DNS (public and private), and WSUS for patch management. The team works closely with application teams, security, and performance teams to ensure these services meet the needs of the business.
The Cloud team is Infrastructure DevOps who develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and leverage platform engineering to deliver infrastructure to application teams and IT personnel in different regions, to ensure these services meet the needs of the business.
We embrace automation and IaC principles, utilizing tools like GitLab CI and Terraform Cloud for Business to manage our infrastructure. The team also collaborates closely with regional IT teams to ensure seamless service delivery and project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Management: Oversee the daily operation of shared services, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Incident Response: Lead incident response and troubleshooting for shared services outages.
- Problem Management: Proactively identify and address recurring issues with shared services.
- Change Management: Implement and manage changes to shared services infrastructure.
- Capacity Planning: Forecast and plan for future capacity needs for shared services.
- Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize the performance of shared services
- Automation & IaC: Develop and maintain automation scripts and infrastructure-as-code configurations for shared services
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of system administrators and engineers.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with vendors of shared services software and hardware
- Regional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with regional IT teams to ensure the smooth operation and delivery of shared services. Strong coordination is essential for successful project execution
- Community Animation: Facilitate the cloud/shared services community across regions, promoting communication and collaboration. This involves sharing updates on incidents, changes to the service catalog, and projects that affect or require participation from regional teams
- Documentation Management: Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation for network infrastructure, processes, and operational procedures. Ensure documentation ownership and accuracy within the team
Qualification & Requirements
Technical Skills:
- Deep understanding of core infrastructure technologies (Microsoft Active Directory, IPAM/DHCP, DNS, SMTP, NPS/Radius, PKI, Microsoft WSUS, etc.)
- Experience with IaaS cloud platforms (AWS, Google, Azure)
- Strong scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Python)
- Experience with CI/CD and IaC tools (Git / Gitlab, Terraform, Ansible)
- Knowledge of ITIL framework and best practices
- Proven ability to contribute to RFP processes and evaluate vendor proposals
- Migration and Implementation: Experience managing the migration from traditional network
Soft Skills:
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent English language proficiency (written and spoken): Crucial for seamless communication with global partners, including those in India, and the worldwide IT community
- Experience managing and mentoring technical teams
- Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with external partners and internal teams
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- 10+ years of experience managing and operating core infrastructure services
- Relevant industry certifications (MCSE, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, AWS Certified Architect)
