Description

We are seeking a highly strategic and operationally driven Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee and scale operations across a diverse portfolio of high-growth venture-backed companies. This role is ideal for a seasoned executive with experience in startup environments, particularly in scaling early- to mid-stage companies across various sectors (tech, SaaS, consumer, etc.).

As COO, you will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence, standardizing processes, and optimizing performance across the portfolio. You will serve as a thought partner to founders, provide hands-on operational leadership, and ensure each company is set up for sustainable growth and long-term success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Oversight: Lead operational strategy and performance management across multiple portfolio companies, ensuring alignment with investment goals and best operational practices.
  • Operational Scaling: Support each company in developing and executing scalable systems and processes across core functions (sales, marketing, finance, HR, product).
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with founders and executive teams to define strategic roadmaps, establish KPIs, and monitor progress against key milestones.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Provide mentorship and guidance to leadership teams in areas such as go-to-market strategy, fundraising readiness, team structure, and financial modeling.
  • Standardization & Systems: Identify opportunities to centralize or standardize tools, platforms, and shared services across the portfolio.
  • Performance Reporting: Implement robust performance tracking and reporting structures to ensure data-driven decision-making and transparency for stakeholders.
  • Founder Support: Act as a trusted advisor to founders and CEOs, offering hands-on help and executive-level guidance as needed.

Qualification & Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience, including COO or senior operational roles across multiple startups or venture-backed businesses.
  • Proven track record of scaling early- or growth-stage companies, ideally in diverse industries or business models.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting, and driving profitability.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Adept at balancing strategic thinking with tactical execution.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and shifting priorities across multiple entities.
