Description

The CFO / Country Finance Head will serve as the strategic financial leader and executive steward for the Global Business Services (GBS) / Shared Services hub in the Philippines. This role is responsible for driving financial performance, operational governance, and financial transformation across multi-country accounting towers. The ideal candidate will blend top-tier fiduciary oversight with the operational excellence required to scale migrations, lead transitions, and manage matrixed stakeholders across multinational business units.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Leadership & Governance

  • Oversee the end-to-end financial operations of the Shared Services hub, including financial accounting, compliance, statutory reporting, tax strategy, and treasury management.
  • Act as a core member of the country leadership team, providing commercial insights and financial guardrails to ensure profitability and cost-efficiency.
  • Define, track, and optimize financial metrics, Unit Cost models, chargebacks, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with global internal entities.
  • Establish robust internal controls, risk management framework, and full compliance with local regulatory requirements (SEC, BIR, PEZA/BOI where applicable).

Shared Services Transformation & Migration

  • Partner with global stakeholders to steer finance transformation roadmaps, process optimization, and automation initiatives (RPA, ERP upgrades, AI tooling).
  • Lead and governance the end-to-end migration of local onshore finance and accounting functions (RTR, P2P, OTC, FP&A) from global entities into the consolidated hub.
  • Spearhead a culture of continuous improvement, utilizing Lean Six Sigma frameworks to reduce operational waste and drive down service delivery costs.

People Leadership & Matrix Management

  • Lead, mentor, and build a high-performing finance organization, managing direct reports across multiple towers (Accounting Managers, FP&A leads, and Operations Supervisors).
  • Manage the strategic capacity planning, talent retention, and succession management within the finance hub.
  • Navigate and align complex matrixed reporting lines, bridging local statutory country realities with global corporate finance directives.

Qualification & Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent advanced degree is highly preferred.

Certification

  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) qualification is strongly desired.

Experience

  • At least 12–15 years of progressive financial leadership experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior executive capacity (CFO, Finance Director, or VP of Finance) inside a Shared Services, GBS, Captive Hub, or BPO environment.
  • Proven track record of managing multi-million dollar budgets, structural transformations, and regional country migrations.

Technical Skills:

  • Deep understanding of international accounting standards (IFRS / US GAAP) and local Philippine statutory frameworks.
  • Proficiency with enterprise ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and digital finance transformation technologies

Competencies

  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills to influence cross-border executive leadership.
  • Strong commercial acumen balanced with high operational agility in a high-volume transaction environment.
