Description
The Business Controller manages the day-to-day business controlling activities of the Service business projects (end to end). He/she ensures that KONE service business and modernization activities are conducted in accordance with KONE Financial Control Models (FCM) and that financial impacts are measured and reported following the KONE accounting standards and reporting instructions.
He/She supports the definition of local financial policies and ensures that the adherence to both local and global policies is controlled.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform or organize the execution of the business controlling tasks for service and modernization businesses as defined in the KONE Financial Control Models (FCM).
- Analyze the service and modernization business activities and advise management/sales/operations team on financial matters and impacts of the business transactions and decisions.
- Support functional or sales/operations teams in rolling forecast and annual planning and budgeting exercises.
- Analyze and monitor the variable cost development for each order/contract.
- Support sales teams in the tender to ensure correct costing and pricing.
- Collect, compile, verify, and analyze financial information for each order so that senior management has accurate and timely information for making strategic and operational decisions on, for example, investment and capital expenditure.
- Provide technical expertise and advice on financial issues to the functional and operations managers to help them develop revenue and expense budgets, understand financial reports, and manage their financial responsibilities.
- Assure the correctness of the managerial information including order book, WIP, late cost reserves, accrual, POC sales, pre-to-post calculation, cash-to-cost ratio, and contract profitability.
- Develop and implement an annual budget for service business, in line with global budgeting guidelines.
- Monitor the development of unbilled revenue and block contracts to ensure timely invoicing.
- Prepare and generate scenarios for annual planning and budget exercise.
- Maintain strong connections with other Finance colleagues within KONE to share best practices and to understand current and future trends.
Qualification & Requirements
- At least 8 years of professional experience, preferably with some years of experience in auditing, business controlling, and strategic planning.
- Good communication skills in English, both spoken and written.
- At least 8 years of working experience and at least 3 years in a similar role.
- Process relevant professional qualifications.
- Well-versed with SAP, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint.
