Organization and department description For a leading European player in the retail sector, we are looking for a Business Controller. With hundreds of stores in different countries, our client offers a dynamic working environment that is constantly evolving. This company is known for its innovative approach and is continuously looking for opportunities for growth. Job description In the role of Business Controller, you are much more than just a number expert; you are a crucial link in the success of our organization. You are responsible for translating strategic and financial objectives into concrete plans and monitoring their implementation.

Business Controller

Key Responsibilities

  • Business control of the shared service departments such as IT, logistics, customer support, and HR;
  • Further development towards a more KPI-driven business control with regard to these departments;
  • Further development of reporting to budget holders, building on the foundations that have already been laid;
  • Capex control and the design and assessment of investment proposals within these domains;
  • Various ad hoc activities across the group, such as annual impairment testing of store assets and payback analysis of store investments;
  • Support for M&A activities;
  • After an induction period, take on the business control of the Dutch stores as a second step.

Qualification & Requirements

  • A completed university education and at least 5 years of relevant work experience;
  • Excellent command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written;
  • Demonstrable experience with Excel, PowerPoint, and EPM software. Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tagetik, Tableau, or Anaplan is a plus;
  • Strong numerical insight and preferably experience in a Retail or B2C environment.
