Description

The Finance division provides financial reporting, advisory services, budgeting, capital asset reporting, and financial transactional processing (banking, accounting payable, accounts receivable). Finance is responsible for the LDB’s enterprise risk management program and oversees regulatory compliance for BC liquor manufacturers/warehouses.

Band 4 – Finance Director, Shared Services (BC Public Service)

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Finance Director, Shared Services provides strategic advice and guidance regarding all aspects of the LDB’s financial accounting function and is accountable for achieving performance targets while directing the provision of financial accounting related advice (i.e., 0. payable/receivable, banking, bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, risk management, and period end activities), stewardship and services to support the liquor and cannabis shared services division’s strategic objectives.

Qualification & Requirements

  • Canadian professional accounting designation (CPA) and a membership in good standing. Note: If your designation was obtained from outside of Canada, you will need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through an applicable Canadian Accounting Association.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of recent, related experience* in a senior leadership role.
  • Recent, related experience must be within the last seven (7) years and include the following:
  • Leading and managing the provision of financial advice, stewardship and services for a large wholesale or retail operation.
  • Directing audits.
  • Successfully leading significant change initiatives which improved the alignment of financial advice, stewardship and/or services with the business requirements of internal & external stakeholders (please provide examples).
  • Leading and managing teams of five (5) or more employees in senior financial and administrative roles.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with experience in the following:
  • Experience in the beverage alcohol industry or a similar supply chain environment
  • Experience managing complex Finance Shared Services, i.e., Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions.
