AVP-External Communications

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Communication Planning:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies aligned with the organization’s business objectives.
  • Collaborate with senior executives to identify emerging priorities and key messages to ensure consistency in communication efforts.
  • Monitor industry trends, media coverage, and competitor activities to recommend adjustments to communication strategies as needed.

External Communication

  • Leverage the organization’s external communication channels, including media relations, public relations, and social media, to secure meaningful visibility of initiatives with key external audiences.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, corporate partners and industry influencers to enhance the organization’s reputation and promote positive coverage.
  • Act as a spokesperson for the organization, handling media inquiries and managing crisis communications when necessary on enterprise-level issues.

Qualification & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field. A Master’s degree a plus.
  • Extensive experience (5-10 years) in corporate communications, public relations, or a related field; experience in the financial services or technology industries desired but not required.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful communication strategies across an array of topics, issues and stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and issues in succinct and impactful ways.

In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
