Accounting Shared Services Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for the day-to-day management of the shared services team accountable for providing transactional accounting services for all A.Y. McDonald Industries subsidiary companies.
• Carry out department management functions, including but not limited to approving timecards and PTO requests, leading weekly department meeting, and holding bi-weekly one on one meetings.
• Responsible for driving operational efficiency across all department functions, strengthening processes and controls, driving improvement in company working capital, and ensuring achievement of department Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
• Ensures month-end close activities are completed on schedule and with accuracy including producing timely and accurate reporting of key operational and financial metrics
• Assist staff in efficient and effective performance of departmental responsibilities and achievement of all department goals.
• Work effectively with department heads in process improvement and problem solving.
• Coordinate Finance Department use of ERP system and third-party accounting and payroll software, including regularly resolving problems and developing enhancements.
• Initiate or approve wire and ACH payments via online banking
• Directly supervises co-workers in the Finance Department, including Payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable functions
• Plays a key role in supporting the implementation or upgrade of financial information systems as well as subsidiary integration activities
• Preparation of special reports and analytics as required.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualification & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) in Accounting from four-year college or university; or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
