Description
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to lead our Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams in Winston Salem, North Carolina. This role is ideal for someone passionate about optimizing financial processes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and driving efficiency within a collaborative environment. The position requires strong leadership capabilities, a deep understanding of accounting principles, and a commitment to continuous improvement in financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams, ensuring high performance through mentoring, training, and regular evaluations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring data integrity across all AP/AR systems.
- Support financial closing activities by preparing reconciliations, conducting detailed analyses, and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Analyze existing AP/AR workflows to identify inefficiencies and implement innovative process improvements.
- Lead initiatives to digitize and automate accounting processes, utilizing accounting software and tools for enhanced efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial processes with organizational goals and improve overall operations.
- Supervise the accounts payable process, including invoice approvals, vendor payments, and compliance with internal policies.
- Manage the accounts receivable process by overseeing invoicing, collections, and customer account reconciliations while ensuring timely resolution of disputes.
- Monitor and report on key financial metrics to support strategic decision-making and assess the effectiveness of implemented changes.
- Address and resolve complex issues with vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders, ensuring smooth financial operations.
Qualification & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting, including leadership roles in AP/AR management.
- Proficiency in accounting software systems such as D365 or Medius, along with advanced Excel skills.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities with a proven track record of process improvements.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated leadership and communication skills to effectively manage and mentor teams.
- Knowledge of corporate treasury functions and billing processes is a plus.
- Certification such as CPA or CMA is preferred but not required.
