Description
The Global Process Owner Lead & Record-2-Report (R2R) oversee the Global Process Owners across the core Finance processes (Record-to-Report, Procure-to-Pay, Service-to-Cash, Plan-to-Perform, Finance Data) and is specifically responsible for the Record-2-Report process. The objective of the role is to the drive the transformation, governance and enhancement of these processes across the organization (Group, Cluster/Country and Shared Services).
This role plays a critical leadership position in the SAP S/4HANA public cloud implementation program, driving the design, build and global roll-out of standardized Core Accounting processes. The role fosters a template build phase and subsequent multi-country implementations, ensuring strict adherence to SAP Best Practices and Fit-to-Standard principles.
The position must collaborate with functional departments on global, cluster and country level while influencing decisions where required. The Global Process Owner is responsible for designing and implementing standardized best-in-class end-to-end processes, defending the global template against local deviations, and ensuring all internal and external regulations are met. Additionally, the role drives the establishment and continuous improvement of R2R Shared Services operations, delivering excellent value to the business in line with agreed operating targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the global vision and transformation roadmap for the Global Process Owner Organization translating group strategies into operational goals and objectives in alignment with senior stakeholders from Global Finance functions and Clusters Finance
- Contribute to the broader Finance Transformation agenda and support the implementation of the Target Operating Model and Finance Shared Services with managing relevant interdependencies across Finance processes and specifically for Record-2-Report
- Act as Global Process Owner to develop and own the standardized end-to-end process blueprint for Record-2-Report, conducting regular stakeholder reviews to drive best practices, change management and user adoption
- Design global templates, guidelines, procedures and policies for the end-to-end process area and oversee operational compliance
- Align with Internal Control to review and facilitate implementation of internal and external compliance requirements, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures
- Design and implement end-to-end KPIs, driving regular performance reviews and leading continuous improvement projects focused on automation, efficiency, effectiveness and standardization
- Act as business-lead for R2R transformation, translating process requirements into IT requirements and aligning with IT on ERP processes, enabling technologies and broader IT landscape solutions
- Lead the R2R workstream for the SAP S/4HANA public cloud implementation program, ensuring alignment with overall program governance and timelines
- Lead and govern Fit-to-Standard approach for Core Accounting, owning and approving all process deviations, configuration decisions, and local requirement assessments with clear justification and impact analysis
- Define and align financial data standards for S/4HANA including Chart of Accounts, document principles, and master data governance framework (account groups, cost centers, asset master data)
- Collaborate with internal IT teams and implementation partner to drive program deliverables
- Oversee and assess functional impact of the semi-annual SAP Public Cloud release cycles, deciding which new R2R features and innovations should be activated
- Lead country adoption and localization validation (tax, statutory, reporting requirements) while protecting the global core and reviewing mandatory local requirements
- Act as global expert and focal point during country/cluster roll-outs for R2R process and standard template relevant matters
- Ensure smooth transition from project mode to operations, including hypercare, stabilization, and handover to Shared Services / BAU teams
- Drive change management for Finance stakeholders, ensuring adoption of standardized S/4HANA Public Cloud processes
- Define and support role-based training concepts for R2R users across countries
- Build a global R2R process community to sustain standardization post go-live
- Design and oversee the setup of R2R Shared Services teams and support initial operations
- Align Record-2-Report Shared Services process splits with cluster/country stakeholders and lead the transition of local R2R activities to the Shared Service center
- Define and execute a continuous improvement roadmap for the R2R Shared Services with focus on SLA/KPI performance, quality and internal customer satisfaction and efficiency improvements
Qualification & Requirements
- University Degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field; qualified accountant preferred with minimum 7 years in Record-2-Report, Financial Accounting and process management
- Deep understanding of R2R processes (GL, Period-end closing, Fixed Assets, reporting) and IFRS standards
- Proven SAP S/4HANA implementation experience with deep knowledge of Core Accounting (FI-GL, FI-AA), Universal Journal, document splitting, parallel accounting, and SAP Best Practices
- Demonstrated track record in large-scale SAP programs including global template design, multi-country roll-outs and standardized implementations
- Experience with Shared Services concepts and implementation
- Strong stakeholder management with ability to defend global templates against local deviations and secure buy-in across global locations and organizational levels
- Excellent project management of global teams in matrix structures with strong analytical and process optimization skills
- Hands-on, results-driven with excellent learning agility, high energy and ability to challenge status-quo for best-in-class solutions
- Excellent communication skills with high proficiency in English, able to articulate clearly at all organizational levels
- Willingness to travel globally up to 30%
