Description

As part of BlueScope’s transition to a more integrated, enterprise-wide operating model, this role has been created to fundamentally reshape how HR transactional activities are designed and delivered across the organisation. The Head of People Operations and Transformation is a critical leadership role focused on simplifying complexity, eliminating duplication, and embedding scalable, digitally enabled people services that support performance and growth.

Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, the Head of People Operations and Transformation has global accountability for end to end HR operations, leading the establishment and delivery of a globally standardised enterprise model. The role works in close partnership with Regional People Leads, ensuring the transformation strengthens consistency and efficiency while protecting operational continuity and improving the experience for employees and leaders.

This position leads global HR Operations teams and oversees service delivery, HR technology roadmap, governance, risk management and vendor partnerships. It plays a central role in enabling the People function to operate as a trusted, enterprise service—providing reliable delivery, clear access to support, actionable insight and continuous improvement across BlueScope.

This role can be based in either our Melbourne (CBD) or Sydney (Mascot) offices.

  • Design and execute the enterprise HR Operations operating model, strategy and roadmap
  • Lead end to end HR transactional delivery across the employee lifecycle

  • Provide enterprise leadership for HR systems, digital enablement, analytics and reporting
  • Own global HR policy, employee lifecycle governance and risk frameworks
  • Lead HR Operations teams and manage vendor and outsourcing partnerships
  • Deliver measurable improvements in efficiency, cost, service quality and insight
