Description
Reporting to the VP, Global Business Services, the General Manager, Global Business Services is a senior enterprise leader and a core member of the GBS Global Leadership Team, collectively responsible for shaping, scaling, and operating Goodyear’s global GBS model. This role owns the strategic direction, transformation agenda, and enterprise performance of Global Business Services. GBS delivers value across the enterprise. The leadership team’s objective is to create a future‑ready global operating model, one that combines step‑change productivity, superior service quality, and digital‑enabled agility. This includes harnessing AI, automation, analytics, and digital agents to re-imagine end‑to‑end global processes, accelerate decision‑making, elevate employee and customer experience, and deliver sustainable operational cost reduction.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise GBS Leadership & Strategy
- Serve as a member of the GBS Global Leadership Team, jointly accountable for defining and executing the global GBS strategy, operating model, and transformation road map across all GBS locations
- Lead enterprise‑wide GBS priorities, including global continuous improvement, end‑to‑end process design, standardization, business continuity, and risk management, delivering measurable improvements in cost, quality, speed, and service
- Drive the evolution of GBS beyond functional silos to integrated, end‑to‑end processes, with clear accountability, governance, and performance management across global functions
- Champion digital transformation across GBS, including automation, AI‑enabled workflows, analytics, and a digital workforce to enable globally standard ways of working
- Partner with global functional and enterprise stakeholders to optimize and scale GBS leveraging the global footprint (Bucharest, Costa Rica, Manila), ensuring resilience, scalability, and enterprise value realization
- Lead enterprise change and capability development, including reskilling and upskilling leaders and teams to support a future‑ready operating model
GBS Center Leadership & Site Accountability
- Provide executive oversight for one GBS center, ensuring alignment with global GBS strategy, leadership team priorities, and enterprise standards
- Act as the senior site leader accountable for service delivery, governance, talent environment, and operational integrity.
- Ensure site readiness for business continuity, internal controls, audit, and regulatory compliance
Qualification & Requirements
Key Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
- 15+ years of progressive professional experience
- 5+ years in senior leadership roles within global shared services, GBS, or similarly complex enterprise environments
- Demonstrated success leading enterprise‑wide process improvement, transformation, and change initiatives
Key Skills
- Enterprise leadership capability with the ability to operate at scale across regions, functions, and cultures
- Proven experience leading global transformation, including operating model redesign, digital enablement, and large‑scale change
- Strong strategic, analytical, and systems‑thinking skills, with the ability to translate strategy into measurable outcomes
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and complexity, with sound judgment and decision‑making authority
- Ability to influence outcomes without reliance on direct reporting lines, leveraging governance, partnership, and leadership credibility
