Description

Atrium is seeking on behalf of our client a Senior Director of Shared Services based in Alpharetta, GA. A background checkmay be run only after a conditional offer is made, where permitted by law.

The Senior Director of Shared Services will lead the strategy, operations, and continuous improvement of the Shared Services organization. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring compliance, and fostering collaboration across multiple business functions. The position requires strong leadership, process optimization expertise, and the ability to partner with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Senior Director of Shared Services

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy and operations of the Shared Services organization, ensuring alignment with business objectives
  • Oversee shared services functions including AP, AR, payroll, T&E, fixed assets, and lease accounting to maintain accuracy and efficiency
  • Establish SLAs, KPIs, and governance frameworks to support operational excellence and accountability
  • Drive process improvement, automation, and standardization initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
  • Serve as a business lead for finance systems and ERP-related processes, ensuring system integrity and optimization
  • Partner cross-functionally with Finance, HR, IT, and Procurement teams to support organizational goals
  • Ensure SOX compliance and maintain strong internal controls across all shared services functions
  • Support audits, testing, and remediation efforts with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance readiness
  • Monitor operational performance and identify improvement opportunities through data analysis and KPIs
  • Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams across multiple functions to build organizational capability
  • Support system implementations, integrations, and organizational transition initiatives to enable scalability

Qualification & Requirements

Required Experience/Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • Proven experience managing shared services functions in a complex organization
  • Strong knowledge of P2P processes and best practices
  • Hands-on experience with SAP S4Hana ERP system
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive process improvements
  • Strong understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance requirements

Preferred Experience/Skills

  • CPA or CMA certification preferred
  • Experience with Concur, Ariba, or other similar platforms
  • Background in leading automation and digital transformation initiatives
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required
  • Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred
  • Professional certifications such as CPA or CMA are a plus
  • Continuing education in process improvement or shared services leadership desirable
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and financial technology platforms
