Description

As General Manager, Shared and Enabling Services, you’ll lead the corporate functions that power frontline service delivery across the Department of Children and Families and Department of People, Sport and Culture.

This is a senior executive role with broad influence – overseeing finance, workforce, legal, ICT, contracting, infrastructure and governance to ensure our departments can deliver critical services to Territorians.

You’ll work closely with Chief Executives and central agencies to align strategy, strengthen performance, and drive continuous improvement across a complex, high-impact operating environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a large, multidisciplinary corporate services portfolio across two departments.
  • Drive strategic planning, financial management and resource allocation.
  • Strengthen governance, risk and compliance frameworks.
  • Partner with central agencies to improve service delivery and system performance.
  • Enable frontline teams by improving systems, processes and corporate support.
  • Contribute to whole-of-agency leadership and organisational culture.

Qualification & Requirements

  • Senior executive experience leading complex corporate or shared services functions.
  • Strong track record managing large teams and delivering results in high-pressure environments.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to translate vision into practical outcomes.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, including in politically sensitive settings.
  • Experience improving performance, systems and accountability across organisations.

What you’ll need

  • Demonstrated experience aligned to the key selection criteria.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (desirable).
  • Working with Children Clearance and criminal history check.

  • Executive Contract Officer 3 (ECO3) – 4 year contract.
  • Total remuneration package: $277,566 (inclusive of super).
  • Relocation assistance may be available for the right candidate.
