Description
The Head of Order-to-Cash (OTC) will lead the end-to-end receivables and revenue cycle operations for the organization’s finance function in India. The role carries a strong transformation mandate, with responsibility to build a robust OTC structure, strengthen governance, and streamline processes to support a scalable operating model.
Initially reporting to the India Finance Director, the role will play a critical part in establishing best-in-class OTC processes and controls in India, which will subsequently form part of the Global GCC operating model. Over time, the scope of the role is expected to expand beyond India to support regional or global OTC operations.
The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in OTC transformation, governance frameworks, technology enablement, and large team leadership, with prior exposure to distribution-led industries such as Alcobev or FMCG preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Lead the end-to-end Order-to-Cash function including billing, collections, cash application, dispute management, and AR reconciliation.
- Define and execute the OTC operating strategy aligned with business growth and working capital objectives.
- Act as a finance partner to commercial, sales, and supply chain leadership to ensure alignment between revenue operations and receivables management.
Transformation Mandate
A key priority for this role will be to build and institutionalize a best-in-class OTC function. The role will be responsible for:
- Designing and implementing the right OTC organizational structure to support scale and operational efficiency.
- Driving end-to-end process transformation across billing, collections, cash application, dispute management, and credit management.
- Streamlining and standardizing OTC processes across business units and markets where applicable.
- Eliminating inefficiencies and reducing manual interventions through process re-engineering and automation.
- Establishing clear service delivery models, SLAs, and performance metrics within the OTC organization.
- Creating a scalable framework that supports the transition to a Global GCC operating model.
Governance & Control Framework
- Establish strong OTC governance frameworks including policies, credit management practices, and approval hierarchies.
- Implement robust internal control mechanisms and compliance standards across receivables processes.
- Strengthen documentation, audit readiness, and process transparency across the OTC function.
- Partner with internal audit and finance leadership to ensure adherence to financial governance and risk management standards.
Technology & Process Digitization
- Lead the adoption and optimization of ERP platforms (SAP preferred) supporting OTC processes.
- Drive technology-led improvements, including automation of invoicing, reconciliation, and reporting processes.
- Implement data and analytics tools to enhance visibility on receivables performance, credit exposure, and collections effectiveness.
- Partner with finance transformation and IT teams to deliver digitized and scalable OTC operations.
Working Capital & Performance Management
- Own and drive improvements in key working capital metrics, including Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
- Implement structured monitoring of overdue receivables, distributor balances, and credit risk exposure.
- Develop dashboards and reporting frameworks for OTC performance monitoring.
- Lead initiatives to improve cash flow predictability and collections efficiency.
Alcobev / Distribution Business Oversight
- Manage receivables across a large distributor and channel partner ecosystem typical of Alcobev businesses.
- Ensure proper accounting and reconciliation of trade schemes, distributor deductions, pricing adjustments, and credit notes.
- Work closely with commercial teams on credit policies, distributor credit limits, and risk mitigation.
- Oversee resolution of disputes related to returns, breakages, promotional schemes, and pricing discrepancies.
Team Leadership & Organizational Development
- Lead and develop a large OTC operations team, including managers, analysts, and transactional resources.
- Build a high-performance, accountability-driven culture within the OTC organization.
- Strengthen team capability through training, mentoring, and knowledge development.
- Design a scalable organizational structure that supports future GCC expansion.
Leadership Expectations The Head of OTC will play a pivotal role in establishing the foundation of a high-performing OTC organization. Key leadership expectations include:
- Setting up the right OTC organizational structure aligned with future GCC scale.
- Building strong governance, accountability, and performance management frameworks.
- Driving standardization of processes and operational excellence across the receivables lifecycle.
- Partnering with senior leadership to ensure finance operations support business growth and working capital objectives.
- Preparing the OTC organization to transition into and operate within a global shared services / GCC environment.
Qualification & Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance
- Professional qualification such as CA / CPA / CMA / MBA Finance preferred
Experience
- 12–18 years of experience in Finance Operations / Accounts Receivable / Order-to-Cash
- Proven experience leading large OTC teams and managing complex receivable operations
- Demonstrated success in OTC transformation, process redesign, and operational scaling
- Experience implementing technology or automation solutions within finance operations
- Prior experience in Alcobev, FMCG, or distribution-driven industries preferred
