Description
A leading UK investor backed consumer products group with a portfolio of heritage brands is undertaking a major operational transformation to position the business for its next phase of growth.
Historically operating through a highly centralised structure across multiple brands, the Group is transitioning to a brand-led operating model designed to create stronger accountability for performance while maintaining the benefits of shared infrastructure across supply chain, logistics, merchandising, contracts and support functions.
The business is seeking an experienced Chief Operating Officer to partner closely with the CFO and Board during this critical transformation phase.
In addition to the core operational responsibilities of the role, the COO will play a key cultural leadership role as the organisation navigates a period of significant strategic and structural change. Ensuring teams remain aligned, informed and focused while maintaining operational performance will be central to the success of this role.
Working alongside external advisors responsible for designing the Group’s target operating model, the COO will lead the internal execution of the transformation programme and ensure it is implemented effectively across the organisation.
This is a hands-on operational leadership role, requiring an individual comfortable managing complex transformation programmes while driving execution across supply chain, operations and organisational structures.
Key Responsibilities
The COO will lead the operational backbone of the organisation while delivering the Group’s transformation to a brand-led operating structure.
- Leading the implementation of the Group’s target operating model, translating strategy into a clear operational roadmap.
- Overseeing core operational functions including global supply chain, merchandising, quality assurance, logistics and customer service.
- Driving operational performance and efficiency across procurement, manufacturing, logistics and inventory management.
- Establishing clear accountability for brand-level operational performance while maintaining effective shared services.
- Implementing programme governance, milestones and reporting across the transformation programme.
- Partnering closely with the CFO and Board on strategic initiatives including organisational change and potential M&A activity.
- Providing visible leadership across the organisation during a period of significant change.
Qualification & Requirements
The successful candidate will be an experienced operational leader with a track record of delivering complex transformation programmes in multi-brand or multi-division organisations.
Key experience and capabilities include:
- Previous COO, Transformation Director or senior operational leadership experience.
- Proven success delivering target operating model redesign and organisational transformation.
- Strong understanding of global supply chains, manufacturing and consumer product operations.
- Experience working closely with boards, executive teams and external advisors.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams through significant organizational change.
- Commercially astute with strong program execution capability.
Experience in private equity-backed or high-change environments would be advantageous.
