Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Director Payroll Shared Services to join the Legrand Team in West Hartford, CT. Are you ready to lead a critical financial function at the heart of a global manufacturing leader? We’re seeking a strategic and experienced professional to lead our Shared Financial Services team. You will drive the success of our centralized Payroll Department, navigate the complexities of Global Mobility Taxation, and oversee the financial management of our Long-Term International Equity Incentive Programs. This is your chance to make a significant impact by managing departmental budgets, steering key accounting transactions, and providing vital support to our broader Finance Operations team.

Director Payroll Shared Services

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret, maintain, and reconcile global eligibility and provide monetary management of long-term international equity compensation plans.
  • Prepare and coordinate annual equity plan vesting eligibility and the tax sell-to-cover process, fielding various participant questions.
  • Oversee the Payroll Shared Services function, providing special project work, guidance, and direction to the team.
  • Directly supervise the Payroll Shared Services Manager and indirectly a team of six.
  • Prepare the Department Budget and support the Finance Area with confidential inquiries and analysis.
  • Reconcile and prepare quarterly divisional Deferred Compensation Plan Asset Gains/Losses, with additional analysis for annual plans at year-end.
  • Identify Internal Control Compliance items within Payroll Shared Services and related cross-functional activities.
  • Collaborate with Legrand Group, local and divisional HR Teams, Finance, Tax, and Treasury Areas on various projects.
  • Interface with external vendors such as Global Mobility Vendors and Corporate/Payroll Tax Consultants.

Qualification & Requirements

Education

  • BS in Accounting or Finance required.
  • CPA certification is a plus but not a requirement.

Experience

  • Significant experience with Shared Financial Services, Payroll Department Management, Expatriate and Foreign National Taxation, Internal Control Compliance for related back-office functions, and Equity and Deferred Compensation Plans (international preferred but not a requirement).

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Requires robust analytical and critical thinking skills with a proven ability to effectively research and summarize information and make recommendations based on documented analysis.
  • Must have strong organizational and time management skills, pay close attention to detail, and be able to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong technical financial and tax skills are necessary.
  • Ability to handle extremely sensitive material appropriately and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Must be highly collaborative and able to work in a team-based environment.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong computer skills, proficient with MS Suite spreadsheet applications, MS TEAMS, and various E-Mail platforms.
  • Ability to use Internet and web-based resources efficiently and effectively.
  • Experience with the Ceridian Dayforce application is a plus.
