Description
The Senior Director of Shared Services is a strategic and results-oriented leader responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing integrated shared services that drive operational excellence across the organization. This role requires a visionary thinker with a deep understanding of service delivery models, process improvement methodologies, and change management principles. The Senior Director will leverage advanced metrics and performance analytics to cultivate a culture of continuous improvement and ensure the alignment of shared services with organizational objectives. In addition to overseeing the operational aspects of shared services, the individual will be a key collaborator with senior leadership to identify opportunities for enhanced efficiency and effectiveness, uphold the highest standards in service quality, and champion the integration of innovative technologies to streamline processes. With strong interpersonal skills, the Senior Director will foster an engaging environment that empowers cross-functional teams to achieve optimal service levels while effectively managing the complexities of change.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute a strategic roadmap for shared services that aligns with the organization’s overall objectives, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services.
- Lead and oversee the development of key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs) to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of shared services operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to identify and prioritize opportunities for service improvement and operational optimization.
- Implement process improvement initiatives utilizing methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma to streamline workflows and reduce operational costs.
- Ensure adherence to compliance and regulatory standards throughout shared services operations, establishing a robust governance framework.
- Create and manage budgets for shared services, ensuring financial targets are met, and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality.
- Drive the effective use of technology to enhance service delivery, including the evaluation and integration of relevant software and platforms.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging innovation and soliciting feedback from stakeholders and team members.
- Mentor and develop a high-capacity team of shared services professionals, promoting an environment of accountability, engagement, and performance excellence.
- Prepare and present regular updates on shared services performance to executive leadership and other stakeholders, utilizing data-driven insights to inform decision-making.
- Ensure effective communication and change management practices are employed to facilitate transitions and engagement among employees and stakeholders affected by shared services policies and processes.
- Monitor industry trends and best practices in shared services, adapting strategies as necessary to drive competitiveness and operational excellence.
- Address and resolve any service delivery issues with urgency while implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Cultivate strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, positioning shared services as a trusted partner within the organization.
Qualification & Requirements
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 12 years of progressive leadership experience in shared services, operations, or a similar functional area within a complex organization.
- Proven track record of successfully implementing shared services models that enhance operational efficiency and service quality.
- Extensive experience in change management and leading transformative initiatives that align with business strategy.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting, and financial reporting related to shared services operations.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to leverage data-driven insights and performance metrics to inform decision-making and operational strategies.
- Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement and relationship management across multiple levels of the organization.
- In-depth knowledge of process improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean, or Agile principles.
- Experience in technology integration, with the ability to assess and implement tools and systems that facilitate shared services operations.
- Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks as they pertain to shared services.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on presenting complex information to executive-level stakeholders.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performance teams through effective coaching and talent management practices.
