Executive Director Business Services

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Executive Director Business Services plays a pivotal role in leading high-performing teams across asset management, ICT, and business operations. The role is responsible for developing and executing a commercially focused asset strategy to optimise the Diocese’s property portfolio, while aligning digital and ICT capabilities with strategic goals to drive innovation, security, and user experience.

A key focus of the position is to champion a culture of continuous improvement, commercial acumen, and cross-functional collaboration. The Executive Director will deliver integrated operational, asset, and ICT strategies that enhance service delivery and resource utilisation, oversee the full lifecycle management of property assets including acquisition, maintenance, and divestment, and lead the development of a Diocese-wide property register and asset management framework.

Additionally, the role ensures ICT systems are scalable, secure, and support flexible, data-driven operations, manages vendor relationships, and oversees robust risk and cyber security frameworks, including business continuity and disaster recovery planning across all entities.

Qualification & Requirements

You will bring significant experience in senior leadership roles in asset management, property, or business services, supported by tertiary qualifications in property, asset, or facilities management. You have a proven ability to lead high-performing teams, manage complex projects, and deliver operational excellence with strong commercial acumen and stakeholder engagement skills.

Experience in ICT strategy, systems implementation, and vendor management is essential, along with a commitment to Newcastle Anglican’s mission and values. Beyond technical expertise, you embody qualities that see accountability for outcomes, adaptability under pressure, and a focus on safety and safeguarding. You communicate clearly and calmly, build capability in others, and represent the organization with credibility and integrity.

Additional requirements include a current Working with Children Check, National Police Check, and a valid driver’s licence.
