Description
An established, internationally positioned medium-sized company is strategically developing its finance organization. The focus is on the structured development and sustainable establishment of a Finance Shared Service Center (SSC) in (Northern) Germany, which will consolidate finance and accounting processes for several international subsidiaries.
For this phase, we are looking for a finance professional with sound SSC experience who will take overall responsibility for setting up and managing a Finance Shared Service Center.
Head of Finance Shared Services – Start-up Phase (m/f/d)
Permanent position | Fixed-term start-up and establishment phase (approx. 24 months)
Key Responsibilities
- Establishment and overall operational responsibility for a Finance Shared Service Center (SSC)
- Management and further development of a centrally located finance team in (Northern) Germany with approximately 20-25 employees, which is responsible for accounting and finance processes for the entire group of companies and is gradually consolidating them in Germany.
- Centralization, standardization and continuous optimization of accounting and finance processes
- Responsibility for monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and local accounting standards
- Close collaboration with management and top management as a professional sparring partner in the context of SSC development.
- Participation in ERP and digitalization initiatives, e.g. in the SAP S/4HANA environment.
Qualification & Requirements
- Several years of practical experience in the context of Finance Shared Service Center organizations
- Demonstrated involvement in the development, expansion, or stabilization phases of SSC structures
- Leadership experience in operational finance or accounting teams
- Excellent understanding of end-to-end finance processes in centralized organizations with an international scope
- Structured, analytical approach to work with high implementation and management skills
- Very good German and English skills
- Experience in consulting or auditing, as well as with ERP transformations (e.g., SAP S/4HANA), is an advantage.
