Description

The Director of Operations (COO – International Health Services) will be responsible for end-to-end ownership of global operations, with a strong mandate to design, expand, and transform India-based centers as strategic global hubs.

Drive cross-geography transition and consolidation of business and technology roles into India Own operational excellence, scalability, governance, and cost efficiency Partner closely with global leaders across Customer Experience, Technology, Product, Compliance, and Finance Act as a change leader, ensuring minimal business disruption while improving service quality and speed This is a hands-on transformation role, not a steady-state operations position.

Key Responsibilities

Global Operations Leadership

  • Own global operations for International Health Services, including service delivery, customer operations, shared services, and enabling functions
  • Define and execute the global operating model, aligned with customer experience, regulatory, and growth priorities
  • Ensure consistent service quality, SLAs, KPIs, and governance across geographies

India Center Expansion & Transformation (Core Mandate)

  • Lead the strategic expansion of India as a global operations and technology hub
  • Plan and execute migration of critical roles (business, operations, analytics, technology, support) from multiple international locations to India
  • Design target-state org structures, capability maps, and talent models for India centers
  • Build a robust transition and change management framework to ensure continuity and stakeholder confidence
  • This role requires prior experience of having personally led similar global transitions and center build-outs.

Cross-Geography Transition & Change Management

  • Own end-to-end transition governance: planning, timelines, risk mitigation, and stakeholder alignment
  • Work with regional leaders to manage cultural, operational, and regulatory complexities
  • Act as the single-point custodian for transformation success, benefits realization, and operational stability

Operational Excellence & Cost Optimization

  • Drive productivity, standardization, and automation across operations
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization without compromising service quality
  • Implement best-in-class process frameworks (Lean, Six Sigma, Agile Ops where applicable)

Technology & Digital Enablement

  • Partner with Technology leadership to ensure smooth migration of tech roles and platforms to India
  • Enable digitization, analytics, and automation to support scale and customer outcomes
  • Ensure strong collaboration between operations and technology teams

Governance, Compliance & Risk

  • Ensure adherence to global healthcare and insurance regulations, data privacy, and compliance requirements
  • Establish strong operational controls, audit readiness, and risk management frameworks
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, and Risk teams globally

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Build and lead senior leadership teams in India
  • Act as a trusted partner to global leadership, especially the CCO and regional heads
  • Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes clearly to executive and board stakeholders

Qualification & Requirements

Mandatory Experience

  • 20+ years of experience in Operations, Global Services, or Shared Services leadership
  • Proven experience leading cross-geography center expansion and transformation, specifically moving work from multiple regions into India
  • Prior role as COO / Director of Operations / Global Operations Head / GCC Head in a multinational organization
  • Experience in Healthcare, Insurance, BFSI, or regulated service industries
