Description

On behalf of one of our trusted partners, we are seeking a visionary and experienced Head of Shared Services Centre (SSC) to lead and shape their global operations in Sofia.

The Head of SSC will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for a multi-functional Shared Services Centre, ensuring excellence across all areas of service delivery. This role requires the ability to manage and optimize operations across different business disciplines, driving standardization, transformation, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate combines deep Finance, Accounting, and HR expertise with a proven track record in leading multi-functional teams, shaping governance frameworks, and delivering results in a complex, global SSC environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all aspects of the SSC, ensuring efficient and high-quality service delivery across diverse business functions.
  • Drive strategic planning, governance, and performance management initiatives to support global business objectives.
  • Champion standardization, automation, and continuous improvement across Finance, Accounting, HR, and other shared service processes.
  • Monitor operational metrics, KPIs, and SLAs to maintain service excellence and business continuity.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders, Global Process Owners, and regional leaders to identify opportunities for process optimization and strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance, risk management, and audit readiness across SSC operations, with a strong focus on Finance, Accounting, and HR.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams, promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Represent the SSC in global transformation programs, contributing to the design and implementation of future-state operating models.

Qualification & Requirements

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration; MBA or postgraduate qualification is highly desirable.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Finance, Accounting, HR, or Finance Operations within a Shared Services or Global Business Services environment.
  • Proven experience leading multi-functional SSC teams, with responsibility for operational excellence, governance, and transformation.
  • Deep understanding of end-to-end Finance, Accounting, and HR processes (P2P, O2C, R2R, HR Administration, Payroll, Reporting) and compliance frameworks.
  • Strong track record in process improvement, automation, and transformation initiatives.
  • Exceptional leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills in a multicultural environment.
  • Fluent in English; additional European languages are an advantage.
