Head of Shared Services

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Payroll governance across a complex national workforce, ensuring compliance and accuracy
  • Drive the transition from current state to a Managed Services operating model, partnering with third-party providers to deliver scalable, efficient service delivery
  • Lead and develop the People Services team through significant transformation, building capability and embedding new ways of working
  • Partner closely with Change Managers and HR Leadership to deliver enterprise-wide people process transformation (hire to retire experience)
  • Review, simplify and automate end-to-end people processes (onboarding through offboarding) to reduce complexity and enhance employee experience
  • Build a people-centric service delivery model that prioritises employee experience, accessibility, and responsiveness across all touchpoints
  • Ensure a future-focused, scalable People Services function that enables business growth while reducing operational cost.

Qualification & Requirements

  • Senior leadership experience in People Services, HR Business Partnering and Shared Services within a complex organisation
  • Strong Workday capability (hands-on or leadership level)
  • Previous oversight of payroll environments and governance
  • Proven experience being a key driver of large-scale change and transformation
  • A commercial, strategic mindset with the ability to balance service excellence and cost efficiency.
