Description
he Head of Finance is responsible for leading all financial operations and accounting functions of the organization. This role ensures disciplined financial management, accurate reporting, and efficient shared services across a multi-location home services environment. The Head of Finance will drive operational excellence across finance, accounting, payroll, AP/AR, collections, HR shared services, and inventory/warehouse logistics to support scalable, high-performance growth.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership:
- Lead the development and execution of the company’s financial operations strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Serve as the primary financial advisor to the Executive Leadership Team, providing insights on budgeting, forecasting, operating performance, and cost optimization.
- Ensure financial processes, systems, and controls are standardized and scalable across all branches and business units.
Financial Reporting & Compliance:
- Oversee the full accounting function, including general ledger, month-end close, revenue recognition, and compliance with GAAP.
- Ensure timely, accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Lead the company’s annual audit process and ensure timely and accurate filings of all statutory requirements.
Operational Finance:
- Optimize working capital, cash management, and liquidity, ensuring the company has the resources needed for day-to-day operations and long-term goals.
- Monitor financial performance by analyzing key metrics, identifying trends, and implementing corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain a financial infrastructure that supports scalability and efficiency.
- Manage and streamline financial systems, processes, and controls to support the rapid growth and operational complexities of the home services industry.
Financial Planning & Performance Management
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for all divisions and cost centers.
- Implement financial dashboards, KPIs, and reporting tools that provide visibility into operational performance, costs, and trends.
- Partner with operations leaders to analyze branch performance, cost structure, productivity metrics, service-level economics, and labor efficiency.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Partnership
- Build, develop, and mentor a high-performing finance and shared-services team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Partner closely with operations, HR, supply chain, and leadership teams to ensure financial operations improve field execution.
Qualification & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
- 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting leadership experience, ideally in multi-location or home services environments.
- Strong expertise in financial operations, close processes, AP/AR, payroll, inventory accounting, and shared services.
- Deep understanding of GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated experience improving processes, systems, and operational finance structures.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Effective communicator able to partner across operations, leadership, and field teams.
- Proficiency in financial systems, ERP platforms, and reporting tools.
- Ability to lead in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
