Executive Director, Operations – HealthShare

Key Responsibilities

  • The Executive Director Operations leads, plans and manages the operations of all support services provided by HealthShareNSW to employees and entities across the NSW Health system. This includes financial and employee transactional shared services (payroll, purchasing, payments, patient billing and recruitment); out of hospital patient support functions (linen, patient transport, ambulance cleaning and stocking, and the provision of assistive technology); and in-hospital support functions of food and environmental (cleaning) services.
  • The primary purpose of the role is to lead, promote and support excellence in employee and financial transactional functions, and both out of hospital and in-hospital health system support service provision, supporting the patient experience and health system flow.
  • The role also leads and co-ordinates the HealthShare commercial relationship with industry partners that may be able to supplement the services provided in this directorate, and functions as the Deputy Chief Executive.

Qualification & Requirements

We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in health services management, support services management, business management or related fields.
  • Substantial experience at an executive level, with a record of leadership and achievement guiding and managing a customer focused service in a complex service delivery environment, ideally in the health services area.
  • Extensive knowledge of the shared support services model and how this approach to service provision offers opportunities for enhancing organisational performance, competitiveness, business value, customer service and the optimal delivery of public services. A thorough understanding of current trends and issues in shared services provision and the development to maturity of shared services businesses will be necessary.
