Position Mission

Lead, manage, and optimize the transactional finance operations of GBS Americas (Invoice to Pay, Order to Cash, Treasury, and Master Data), ensuring reliability, timeliness, and quality of financial information for both internal and external stakeholders across North America and Latin America. Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations, drive operational efficiency, fraud prevention, and continuous improvement, contributing to the overall excellence of the shared services model.

Your Impact

As Head of GBS Finance Operations, you will have the opportunity to contribute directly to our mission by performing the following key functions:

Strategic and Operational Leadership

  • Design and implement the structure of the Finance Operations department aligned with the GBS strategy.
  • Define and oversee the proper execution of financial and accounting processes (AP, AR, Treasury, RTR).
  • Ensure smooth integration of new processes, projects, or applications that impact service delivery.

Operations Management and Internal Control

  • Monitor adherence to deadlines, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Validate compliance with control standards under the Internal Control (INCOME) program.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring timely execution of corrective action plans.
  • Identify and mitigate risks of fraud, errors, or weaknesses in financial processes.

Service Excellence and Continuous Improvement

  • Track and analyze performance through KPIs and SLAs, ensuring service quality and client satisfaction.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for efficiency, standardization, and automation.
  • Promote digital transformation and effective use of financial systems (e.g., SAP, banking platforms).

People Management and Leadership

  • Lead and develop a multicultural team of :90 professionals.
  • Ensure continuous training, skills development, and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Foster ENGIE values, promoting collaboration, respect, and high performance in line with company culture.

Financial and Budget Management

  • Manage the department’s operating budget and ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Drive cost optimization and savings initiatives while maintaining service quality.

Direct Decision Making

  • Workload distribution, priorities, and resource allocation.
  • Approval of financial procedures and internal controls.
  • Authorization of training and team development plans.
  • Budget management and performance oversight.

Advisory/Recommendation

  • Implementation of cross-functional standardization and automation projects.
  • Process improvements beyond immediate scope, in coordination with other GBS areas.

Qualification & Requirements

  • Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Corporate finance, accounting, and internal control (expert level).
    • Tax and financial regulations (NIFs, IFRS, US GAAP).
    • Audit processes, risk management, and fraud prevention.
    • Advanced proficiency in SAP (Finance, AP) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Key Competencies:
    • Strategic leadership and results orientation.
    • Analytical thinking and change management.
    • Customer focus and service excellence.
    • Negotiation and influencing skills.
    • Adaptability and global mindset.
  • Languages:
    • Advanced English.
    • Spanish (native or advanced).

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in multinational environments, preferably within Shared Services.
  • Proven track record managing large, multicultural teams.
  • Strong experience in audit coordination, compliance, and process improvement.
