Inviting applications for the role of GBS RTR NA General Accounting Senior Manager!
In this role you will lead a team supporting multiple business units and legal entities across the organization. This role is responsible for overseeing the preparation and review of monthly journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and quarterly financial reporting, including flux analysis. Will ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards, while also driving process improvements and operational efficiency.
This position will serve as a key liaison between internal stakeholders and external service providers, including third-party accounting teams overseas. Will contribute to the annual tax package preparation, support year-end reporting, and participate in SOX compliance and special projects. They will also provide mentorship and guidance to team members, ensuring high performance and professional development.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver the agreed service levels to the customers of GBS
- Lead and develop the GBS General Accounting Team in NA
- Partner with Genpact to ensure that they deliver their services
- Drive process improvements to improve efficiencies
- Standardize: Drive that standardization across RTR in NA, adhere to the Global standards
- Automate: Drive and contribute to automation initiatives to increase efficiency, effectiveness and experience.
- End-to-end process ownership:Partner with the global end-to-end process owners within GBS to drive continuous improvements on an enterprise-wide basis.
- Streamline: Work with the GPOs to streamline end-to-end processes within RTR.
- Manage relationship: Establish robust collaboration model with key stakeholders to obtain feedback on services to inform our continuous improvements efforts.
- Focus on quality:Have a systematic approach to routinely track and analyse the root cause of errors and develop action plans to eliminate them.
- Continuous improvement: Ensure that a continuous improvement culture and methodology is in place to address gaps in performance, by identifying root causes and taking corrective actions.
- Vendor Management (BPO): Manage relationships with BPO vendors, ensuring SLA adherence and performance monitoring.
- People: Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of the team, ensuring the clear goals are set, performance is actively monitored, and team members are coached and developed to deliver results
- Compliance: Provide oversight, drive continuous control improvements, and maintain audit readiness through proactive risk management and governance.
Qualification & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Proved experience in finance or accounting field
- Knowledge in Costa Rica statutory requirements (accounting/tax).
- Proved experience in a leadership role
- Proved leadership experience including BPO services
- Strong knowledge of statutory accounting principles, international financial reporting standards (IFRS), and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Proficiency in financial analysis, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP 6.0) and financial reporting tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to various stakeholders.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced English level (C1)
Preferred Qualifications/ Skills
- A professional certification such as CPA, or equivalent is highly desirable.
- GBS experience is preferred
