Description

The Vice President, ESC Shared Services will be responsible for leading the team responsible for transforming the entire end-to-end processes of integrated Supply Chain activities globally. This leader will be responsible for developing a phased, multi-year Shared Services strategy and operating model for K-C’s supply chain work processes. The role will have a dual reporting relationship to the Chief Supply Chain Officer and Vice President, Global Business Services with strong partnerships with the Chief Procurement Officer and entire Supply Chain Leadership Team (ESCLT). This is a critical leadership role to drive overhead and net productivity savings over a multi-year transformation, as well as driving efficiencies for non-operations capabilities.

Dimensions and Scope

Responsible for delivering best and class services to the Enterprise Supply Chain organization (100+ Manufacturing / Distribution Sites, 15K+ employees) in support of KC’s ~$20B total revenue

  • Identify capabilities best suited for shared service and BPO arrangements, and drive the investigation, coordination, and facilitation of all shared service and/or outsourcing requirements (planned and unplanned) globally for the Enterprise Supply Chain Organization
  • In partnership with the Enterprise Supply Chain Organization, design and oversee implementation of a three year strategy and portfolio of projects to standardize processes across all segments, functions and regions for the ESC processes
  • Lead business process design and governance by understanding the needs of the business, facilitating discussions on budget and resource prioritization across the Enterprise Supply Chain Organization; and collaborating with process owners and DTS to ensure processes are designed/developed and executed. Responsible for helping the organization design, monitor, and improve controls in ESC.
  • Partner with GBS to improve day-to-day operations of current Source to Pay capabilities and deliverables in the supply chain process.
  • Meet an annual continuous improvement target for cost, quality and employee experience of ESC by driving all ESC LEAN/CI efforts globally, ensuring that LEAN practices are implemented and shared across the Enterprise Supply Chain Organization, and that value realization initiatives continue to be executed and realized.
  • Recommend, justify, and implement a variety of process improvements, technology implementations, and automations/AI to streamline the efficiency and effectiveness of ESC.
  • Manage senior stakeholders throughout the enterprise to collect VOC feedback, escalations, and business needs, and convert this into ESC policies and procedure change recommendations for the functional leaders.
  • Represent ESC and GBS globally as a trusted partner with the function leaders to brief internal and external stakeholders on opportunities, targets, risks, and successes.
  • Build and implement a unified global reporting structure and accompanying dashboarding systems that track delivery excellence (SLAs) and Total Cost of Service (TCS); as well as process metrics including Total Quality of Service (TQS), Total Standardization of Service (TSS), Total Velocity of Service (TVS), and Customer Satisfaction (CSAT).

Experiences We’re Looking For

  • 20+ years of experience in the Supply Chain space inside large, complex, multinational organizations.
  • Proven balance of operational and transformative leadership skills to continue to enhance the ESC end to end processes (Plan, Source, Make, Deliver).
  • Experience leading large-scale process optimization efforts focused on work process optimization, automation and shared services with an E2E, value stream mindset.
  • Expected Areas of Competence (i.e., knowledge, skills and abilities) include extensive knowledge of all functional components within Supply Chain and experience crossing several sub-functions, including material planning, production planning, logistics, transportation and operations
  • This leader must have experience leading operations teams in the ESC space, experience shaping global ESC policy and standardizing procedure across multiple geographies.
  • Working knowledge of global ESC standards in the US, Europe, Asia Pacific and Latin America regions.
  • Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s Degree preferred

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated the following key skills:

  • Experience leading large Supply Chain functions in global, cross-functional and matrix structured teams.
  • Preference for experience establishing Shared Services operating models and/or supply chain delivery groups in a complex multinational organization.
  • Practical end-to-end knowledge of Procurement, Planning, Logistics and Customer Services.
  • Extensive knowledge of both outsource provider (BPO) services and shared service center operations.
  • Experience with high-impact and large-scale transformation efforts yielding significant value.
  • High emotional intelligence (EQ) and influence skills, coupled with long-term strategic planning.
  • Must have excellent stakeholder management skills across all levels of the organization. Feel equally comfortable on a shop floor or in a boardroom, including successfully interfacing/escalating with suppliers.
  • Must have knowledge of regulatory requirements for order entry, planning, manufacturing, testing, shipping, and quality assurance in a regulated industry. Must also be familiar with designing and enforcing controls.
  • Experience driving large-scale Continuous Improvement (CI) efforts to deliver results; CI certification preferred
  • Experience managing large vendor relationships, including managing complex contractual relationships and standing up new large-scale global vendors
  • Demonstrated track record of leveraging process and project management skills to deliver results
  • Motivational people leader, capable of finding, coaching, and promoting a diverse and inclusive team of top talent
